GA Vyktor - buried by the sea

I was so hoping he'd continue his rally. We all fight so hard for life, but we can't keep winning. Such heartbreak when finally we lose. Love caring nurturing laughing playing, and then nothing. Only memories. Oh, it's just too hard, too much to bear.

I am so glad he came round in time to say goodbye. One thing you do not ever lose, Vyktor's love. With you forever, until you, too, go where Vyktor went, where maybe he waits for you.

I'm glad you had the chance to say your good byes and I love yous and until we meet agains.
I know how hard it is and my eyes are filled with tears for you.

Vyktor, fly free and snuggle and play with Maggie. I will light a candle for you tonight to honor our love for you.
 
((((Serryn)))) I'm so, so sorry to read this. I haven't been here much in the last week - I haven't been able to after losing Rosa. Something made me look in on L&L Land today and I saw your post. Vyktor was an inspiration in my fight to get Rosa OTJ. And you were an inspiration and a huge support to me during her time on insulin too. Fresh tears are falling here for you and Vyktor today. I know there are no words that can help you at the moment, but I know that Vyktor knows just how much you love him. The depth of the pain we feel is equivalent to the love. To feel such a great pain means we know what it is to have loved completely. And I know that, just as I have said about Rosa, you would not have missed a second of the love you shared with Vyktor even if that could have lessened the pain you feel now.

Oh Serryn, I'm so so sad to read this. Vyktor is such a special kitty to us all, and how lucky you were to spend his final hours with him so peacefully. Eventually a time will come when you will smile when you think of him, instead of cry - but know that we all grieve with you right now :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you for all the love. I want to respond to so many of those messages individually but I'm just too empty.

Vyktor's shell was laid to rest tonight, back in the beachside suburb where our life together began, almost 20 years ago. It was a little illegal so we had to wait until after dark to sneak into the sand dunes where he was buried in such a peaceful place under a beautiful bush where you can hear the waves crashing.

After it was done I looked up to the sky and couldn't believe my eyes. The only stars I could see peeking out from behind the clouds were shaped in a triangle, like a cats ear, with the brightest star sitting right in the sweet spot!

So hard to say goodbye :rb_icon:
 
What a wonderful send off you have given Vyktor and such a meaningful final resting spot.

The stars were definitely a sign from Vyktor...saying "look Mom....I don't need any more ear pokies now..I am fine now Mom"

You have said good bye to the earthly Vyktor, but you will never say goodbye to the spiritual Vyktor....he lives on in your heart forever.

{{{{Serryn}}}}, you had such a beautiful life with Vyktor and to bring it full circle, on the beach with Vyktor's star shining down, must have been overwhelming. He sent you a splendid sign that he is safely at the Bridge.

Fighting so hard for just a few more precious moments with you; being able to pass peacefully at home surrounded by boundless love; having such a special final resting place; and already sending you a sign that he's ok -- I think these illustrate that there's beauty to be found in even the saddest of things. I'm so sorry that it was Vyktor's time to leave you, but I'm so happy that it came at the end of a long, happy, wonderful life together. May all of the fond memories that you shared together bring you peace, and may you feel his spirit near whenever you need him most.

Serryn ~ many hugs to you. I am so very sorry... None of this is ever easy. Vyktor was one special kitty, and I shall always remember him. I hope all the fond memories will be of comfort to you. I know too that Mannie is waiting for him at the Bridge, ready to welcome him with one grand feast and party, including Vyktor's specialty, that gum liquor. Vyktor, fly free little one. Land softly at the bridge. You will always remain in my heart.

Such a beautiful send off to a special well loved guy.:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: The sign from Vyktor that he had arrived safely at the Bridge was a wonderful touch from him. I think the oceans know Vyktor is resting beside them and let the oceans around the world know. The water this morning was a blaze of colour. I knew it was trying to tell me something significant had happened.

I hope the love of the FDMB community gives you some comfort. You and Vyktor have been inspirations to many of us and taught us a lot.

I can't believe you'd do something illegal but it's worth it for your guy. Very sweet that he let you know he's ok. Big hugs, it is really hard to say goodbye, or at least until you meet again.

I can't imagine a more tranquil place to find a final place to rest. A companion of 20 years deserves a special place. I'm so glad Vyktor sent you his approval. Please know that Vyktor has a place not only in your heart but in the hearts of many of us here. He has home in the hearts of all of us he's touched all over the world.

Even now you and sweet Vyktor are a inspiration to all of us to continue to fight and when the battle is over to look up to the stars and cherish the memories made......RIP Vyktor......you will be missed by all, you are a legend.....:rb_icon:

This morning he was pretty unresponsive when I gave him his shot, like he was in a very deep sleep. I have checked glucose, ketones, heart rate, gums etc and spoken to his vet. He thinks Vyktor has had a stroke or some other neurological seizure. We agreed that there was no point in bringing him in.

Vyktor remains unresponsive but he is very peaceful and isn't suffering. We are snuggled in bed together and will remain that way until he passes. I am devastated but feel very blessed that he will be able to cross like this, hopefully he will just slip away.

(((Serryn))). You could not have picked a more poignant or beautiful spot to return Vyktor to. I am happy for you that you saw a wonderful sign. We have had tons of butterflies here since Vkytor crossed and I'd like to think it is all our GAs welcoming him to the spirit realm where they all fly free.
