Jake says thanks - he loves kisses on the top of his head. He always comes up to me and tips his head in hopes of getting one - which of course he always does.
The late night/early morning snack trick worked very well for his BG reading this morning which was 92 - way down from 142 and 157. Actually he typically has food overnight. I had kind of wondered why last Friday morning and Saturday morning he had BGs of 57 and 68, respectively, and that on the recent days they had these higher readings. After you guys brought up the late night/early morning snack, it dawned on me that the past few days he had eaten most of his calorie quota during the daytimes so I did not give him much for overnight - thus, he probably did not have an early morning snack when he got those higher numbers. So last night I made sure he had extra - and voila! He can stand to gain a few pounds anyway and after he does, I can merely space out the food a little bit better so that early morning snacks are there! And this way with a green number, I don't have to test him again until tonight! As always, thank you for your VERY helpful suggestions. It is now day 7 with no insulin!!!
