Hi everyone...my cat Mor Mor had an ultrasound done yesterday as he has had pain and nausea (well controlled with bupe and cerenia) for about two months now...the vet told me he has pyelonephritis yesterday determined by the ultrasound ...but has "no kidney infection " and his urynalysis came out clear ...I am confused and bewildered to say the least as I thought pyelonephritis was a treatable kidney infection ...my vet advised euthanasia more or less...my question is wouldn't it be ok to keep Mor Mor a little longer as long as he is still comfortable? He does appear to be in some pain as the bupe wheres off and this is disturbing but cant his bupe be increased from .2ml ?he is ten pds...he is sleeping alot but he still eats and doesnt appear nauseated all the time and still stretches and does "cat things"...still jumps with ease and wanders the front yard...I just cant believe the vet seems to think euthanasia is in order...any thoughts?? Obviously this is devestating and I would never keep Mor if I thought he was in any discomfort or pain or nausea that seemed uncontrolled...does pain and nausea only get worse or does it come and go with this disease?...Appreciate any thoughts or experiences ....very sad day...
