Jill would you be able to change the dose in the U column of the spreadsheet to 3.75 please as that was the actual dose of the Lantus.
I’m going to ask @Bandit's Mom if she will add all the BG data for this cycle into the SS for us. Would you mind please Bhooma? Jill hasn’t been able to get near the SS and I’m not sure she would know what to do as this is her first dose of insulin Hope you can follow it.thanks!

Looks like we have stopped the drop so we can just keep doing what we are doing now, monitoring and feeding.
We are past +7 now so hopefully the insulin will start to wear off soon. But it is hard to tell when a larger dose than normal has been given.
I’m going to have to go to bed I am sorry…it is 2.30 am here and I have to get up in a few hours.
I’m going to leave you in the capable hands of Suzanne.
You are done a great job keeping Merlin safe today.
I will look in tomorrow and see how you are going.

If he will eat then we will continue as is with food and/or food and honey. If he is just done eating... then a honey and water mixture will work well. I used to mix 50/50 and give about 1.5 cc in an oral syringe. Still will have to test in 20 minutes.

yep. I have this already to update. I just went away from the computer for a few minutes

Can you tempt him with some Felix gravy, just the gravy to see if he will eat that.
You are doing a fantastic job there, great composure.
 
If he will eat, I would give some HC mixed with honey. If he will not eat, then give a honey/water mixture (if you can) or straight honey. I do not want him dropping any more. He's still pretty flat though. We want him to rise.
 
That last test was more like 8.25 (8 hours and 15 minutes after shot). I will correct it and post for Bhooma. Keep up the feeding/honey/monitoring. Come on, Merlin! Come up.

Yes. You can manually insert the honey into his mouth. You can give dry food, but do the honey FIRST, please. The thing about dry food is that it will take longer to bring his BG up... so that won't help right now. Right now, I want his BG to rise some.
 
I wrote the vet. I told her that all this advice came from my vets in CO. I don’t know how she feels about you guys or if she even knows of any such wonderful thing. I’m going on the initial reaction she had to my idea of giving him Lantus, which was not to google. I gave her the readings and told her we need to use the U 100 syringes and that she gave him 3 times what I thought we were going to give him to start him out slow. I said Ive been giving him high carb food to keep him out of 5. I asked her if she could order the syringes. I haven’t heard back yet.

Okay, good. Hopefully, she realizes the mistake now and will understand the need for the U-100s.
