Unfortunately, not all FD FB groups have people giving good suggestions. Don't beat yourself up on this, you are not alone.the current reset was due to the advice of a moderator FD FB group.

Nope, Lantus typically doesn't onset for 2-3 hours after the shot, so he doesn't need to eat all of his food right away. We also have many members with kitties who are grazers.s his shot tonight dependent on the amount of food he eats for dinner or his PMPS?
@Suzanne & Darcy - he's been eating lately but has also been very weird about it. He'll get up and walk away but if i bring him back, he'll begin eating again. And yes, we gave two snacks today. I think he'll eat but he's been a little unpredictable lately - both snacks where eaten without hesitation though.
Usually it is recommended to give some watered down tuna water, or some watered down chicken broth, or to get a water fountain (don’t know if you have one.) You can syringe a little water slowly into the side of his mouth if you think it’s necessary. Have you done this before with him or another cat? Just be careful to do it in the side of his mouth and slowly so that there is no risk that he will aspirate any water. Since he is on wet food, he may be getting enough water from his food. Do you add water to his food? It’s always a good way to keep them hydrated.Buddy's not drank nearly as much today as usual. I've not been able to check for ketones because of this.
Is there anything we can give him to encourage him to drink? Is chicken broth okay? Or should we put water in a syringe and feed it to him?
We plan to test in about 1/2 hour and then give him a small snack before bed but we are not sure what to do about the water intake.
(I should also mention that he had cystitis about a month or so ago and it went away.)
You can water down anything— baby food — churu stick type things, wet food, etc.
I don’t see it in your signature but I assume since you are feeding the Weruva WX that you are limiting his phosphorous- so you would have to check the treats for phosphorus content as well. I am glad that you are restricting phosphorus since I see in his labs of last October that it was 6.6 which is higher than optimal. Somewhere around 4 or 4.5 would be good. I feed all of my adult cats some of the lower phosphorus Weruva BFF PLAY foods to reduce the stress on their kidneys. I have not had to go to the WX yet.
Oh my cats love the Yeowww catnip toys!
