First off, let me thank everyone for their sympathy wishes when Morris went to the RB 17 days ago...hard to believe it was only 18 days. I cried non-stop for the first 3 days and was really worried about it because I was getting more and more depressed each day...my life revolved around Morris and his shots and tests and without him I didn't know what to do with myself.
On the fourth day, a friend came to take me shopping and as I walked out of the house a little feral pregnant female cat ran up to me. We were going to stop by PetSmart and try to adopt at least one cat to take home with me, possibly more....but I had the little mama in the back of my mind. I ended up adopting a sweet little boy cat and decided to wait for the kitties for any more. Long sad story made short, the little boy cat ended up being very, very sick and I took him back in two days....I could not bear to have my heart broken a second time so soon.
So I started working on Mommacat, feeding her, petting her, made her a little bed in my golf cart with the plastic sides down so it stayed warmer. She started sleeping in the golf cart and was always there morning and night for food. The first time I enticed her into the screen porch and closed the door, she freaked out and climbed the screens...I had to let her back outside. I started leaving the door open and let her come in on her own. Then, this past Tuesday, I brought out the cage and set it up on the porch...it's a soft cage made of mesh and canvas and quite large. I put the towels and blanket that was in the golf cart into the cage and she went in and laid down. I closed the door.
I intended to keep her caged for awhile but within the same night, she was in the house...on her own she came in and explored and decided to stay. She is very tame and has already met two dogs, which she was not too happy about. I let her out on the screen porch during the day and she looks out so longingly and meows but she has to stay in now I tell her. Most of the time she is OK with it and when she has the kitties she will be too busy to notice for awhile anyway.
So here are some pictures of her...I named her Mommacat at first but now I have decided that the gray/black spot on top of her head looks like angel wings so she will be called Angel. Surely Morris sent her to me to ease my pain.
