I tested both meters against each other this morning and this is what I got. See picture. That was this morning. She had less than 1/4 tsp pumpkin last night. She was eating better yesterday but not wanting to eat much this morning.

The Pettest is labelled as a pet meter. The TrueMetrix is a human blood glucose meter. In higher numbers, the pet meters tend to read a lot higher than the human meter. It's really not significant, as both results tell me "blood sugar is too high". The meters register a lot closer in lower numbers.

Are you giving insulin now? The spreadsheet shows "0" where the number of insulin units should go.

Should I be using the pet meter or the human meter? Also was going to put the libre on to get low readings while I’m at work. Is it likely that she will go hypo on a .25 dose ?

If you want to use the dosing methods we use here, it'd be best to use the human meters. Besides being much cheaper test strips, our dosing methods were written with human meters, back before pet meters were invented.

Note, the Libre often tends to read lower than a blood glucose meter in low numbers. We suggest double checking with a hand held for numbers under 100.

It's hard to guess what she will do on a 0.25 unit dose, but given how high her numbers are off of insulin, I suspect you'll be OK with 0.25 units. If she still is eating some dry food, we'd even be suggesting 1.0 unit as her starting dose.

Vey little dry food. I’m going to stick with the human meter. Pretty sure the pet meter is wrong. I have not decided what to do about the libre. It’s more for my peace of mind and less ear pokes which she is getting quite sick of.

You could use the Libre and just double check lower numbers with the hand held.

Monsters test results came back positive for pancreatitis today.
