We are starting on 1.0 unit (had two shots yesterday). Spreadsheet is in world numbers for now. We had originally started him on 2.0 units last week but his numbers went from 18.6 down to 7.8 in less than 24 hours so I got spooked (2.0 units first shot, 12 hours later only did 1.0 unit).
So Tuesday night we started him on 1.0 unit. The monday info on the spreadsheet is a curve with no insulin.
Not sure how often to test him on day two - I was thinking every three hours. He's on a low dose so I don't expect any big drops.
I had a dream last night about ear lancing. I had to do it like ten times, he kept squirming, I stabbed his forehead instead of his ear, then I kept getting errors and the strips didn't suck the blood right or I put the strip in backwards or forgot that I had a new bottle and didn't code it (put the chip in). I don't have these fears when I prick his ear. Things have been going well except for stabbing myself in the fingers trying to get the 25g needle in position. I did hurt his ear two nights ago. He pulled away just as I was pricking his ear and he bled a lot so maybe thats where my dream stemmed from. So this morning I had trouble with the ear pricking - took four or five pricks, got error codes and not enough blood. The dream had a subconcious affect on me I think. So I've really put his ear through a lot this morning - let alone today. I wonder if I should wait until tomorrow to test throughout the day?
His old spreadsheet is here - in US numbers - just a day and a half of data though - and then we stopped for five days at vets instructions: https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub...OVlDQ3BBSUc2aTBBcWFpZTBJcWc&hl=en&output=html
