Hello everyone, my 16-year-old cat Luna has had IBD for many years and is being treated with Budesonide + Tylosin. She also took prednisolone (now replaced with budesonide) for many years, which is likely what caused her diabetes.
She is currently being treated with Lantus 1 unit every 12 hours.
She is currently eating Royal Renal Special kibble, which is high in carbohydrates and therefore not good for diabetes.
P.S. She has no kidney problems; she only eats them out of habit, and since her gut was pretty good, I never changed them.
I'm trying to change her diet to "Purina Vet Mousse for Diabetes," but I'm not convinced it's the best choice.
Does anyone have cats with IBD + diabetes? What do you feed them?
Is Purina a good choice? Or is there something better?
Thanks.
Gabriele
