IBD+Diabetes

Hello everyone, my 16-year-old cat Luna has had IBD for many years and is being treated with Budesonide + Tylosin. She also took prednisolone (now replaced with budesonide) for many years, which is likely what caused her diabetes.
She is currently being treated with Lantus 1 unit every 12 hours.
She is currently eating Royal Renal Special kibble, which is high in carbohydrates and therefore not good for diabetes.
P.S. She has no kidney problems; she only eats them out of habit, and since her gut was pretty good, I never changed them.

I'm trying to change her diet to "Purina Vet Mousse for Diabetes," but I'm not convinced it's the best choice.

Does anyone have cats with IBD + diabetes? What do you feed them?
Is Purina a good choice? Or is there something better?

Thanks.
Gabriele

My cat Simon has IBD but not diabetes. I started making his food when he stopped eating the prescription food. The recipe I use is also good for diabetic cats. You can use either raw or cooked meat in it. If you use cooked meat, cook it only in water with no seasonings or the supplements. Then you can use the cooking water to mix the supplements in with the meat. I use an Instant Pot to cook my meat. I usually use chicken or pork in my batches, but occasionally I will also make a batch of rabbit. I also use powdered egg instead of fresh eggs in my batch.
