It's been a long time since I've posted, since Floyd's DM was cruising along well, but I know some of you remember us.
Well, last night was his time to cross the bridge.
His kidneys finally shut down and although he rallied for a few days, last night he let me know enough was enough. His breathing was labored, he was weak and he couldn't get comfortable in his favorite undersize bed with the missing cushion.
I'm absolutely heartbroken at losing this boy who was so aloof to me! He wasn't overly affectionate or lovey, but you could do anything to him. And he had me at meow!
15 years ago, it was love at first sight and I adopted him from owners who no longer wanted him. I pulled him through a bad urinary blockage 11 years ago, and we rode the roller coaster of DM/acro for more than 2 years including 2 bouts of pancreatitis. But, his 9 lives were up this time. Now, he's chasing varmints with his old buddy Zachary, no more pokes.
Fly free, my friend.
