It's been a long time since I've posted, since Floyd's DM was cruising along well, but I know some of you remember us. Well, last night was his time to cross the bridge. His kidneys finally shut down and although he rallied for a few days, last night he let me know enough was enough. His breathing was labored, he was weak and he couldn't get comfortable in his favorite undersize bed with the missing cushion. I'm absolutely heartbroken at losing this boy who was so aloof to me! He wasn't overly affectionate or lovey, but you could do anything to him. And he had me at meow! 15 years ago, it was love at first sight and I adopted him from owners who no longer wanted him. I pulled him through a bad urinary blockage 11 years ago, and we rode the roller coaster of DM/acro for more than 2 years including 2 bouts of pancreatitis. But, his 9 lives were up this time. Now, he's chasing varmints with his old buddy Zachary, no more pokes. Fly free, my friend.
This was him a few months ago stuffed into his ridiculous bed he loved so much. Looking much better than his avatar photo which was before starting cabergoline and getting his DM under better control.
(((Janine and family))). I am so sorry it was Floyd’s time to earn his angel wings. Floyd had the best possible care for all the complications that acromegaly brings. Fate chose well when his previous owners no longer wanted him. I am sure Neko will show Floyd the best spots to chase butterflies at the Bridge.
I am soooo sorry to learn of your loss. It is a difficult time but with your wonderful memories of Floyd you will have comforting time to heal and you will always remember Floyd with the greatest fondness from within your heart. Please take care of yourself
OM. I think of you and Floyd often as Ollie rides the acro coaster. He was the luckiest one to find you. Be free sweet Floyd.
What a lovely tribute, I can tell how much you loved Floyd, I'm sorry it was his time to go, it's never enough time, is it? So sorry for your loss, take care of yourself
So sorry for your loss. I'm sure Floyd is bragging about you in kitty heaven. He was so lucky to have you. Please do something nice for yourself.
An awesome tribute to Floyd and I'm so very sorry to hear tbis, u were an awesome bean to him, fly free sweet Floyd
I can feel the love you had for Floyd in your tribute and I'm so sorry for the pain you must be feeling. It's so awful when we have to say goodbye. He was very lucky to have you as his Mom.
I am so very sorry for your loss Janine. Bronx and him have many similarities, acromegly sucks but it does strengthen the bond. Fly free sweet Floyd
((((Oh Janine)))) ! I am so very sorry to be reading this. It is never easy to say goodbye but because we love them so much we don't want them to suffer. He was one lucky boy to land at your house with all your loving care. Thanks for letting us know. I wish you peace and for your heart to heal.
Janine, I was very sorry to read your post about Floyd crossing the bridge. He was a such a handsome boy and even though he may not have been demonstrative or overtly affectionate, I'm sure he knew how lucky he was to live with you and have such excellent care. He was safe in your home and in your heart. Fifteen years, how lucky you both were! Treat yourself tenderly while your heart heals.
((((Janine)))) I'm so very sorry. These small, furry creatures wind their way into our hearts in the most inconceivable of ways. When it's their time to leave, they take a piece of our hearts with them so we will be able to find each other when we are reunited. Fly free Floyd and land softly.
Our Acro-kittehs take so much from us, but they give us so much in return. I remember Floyd. What a wonderful adoption story for him. And you gave him a wonderful life for all those years - he was a lucky kitteh to be in your home. Now he joins Leoberry and the other kittehs who have passed before him. May your sweet Floyd fly freely and land gently at the Bridge. He was loved.
I'm sorry it was time to say goodbye to your handsome gray guy. He looks so just right sitting in his little bed.
So sorry to hear about sweet Floyd. He was a lucky kitty to wind up with you. I know he was very loved and had the best care possible.
Oh no! I think of you and Floyd often. I am super sorry it was his time to cross to the bridge. Fly free sweet Floyd.
Fly Free Sweet Floyd Thank you for allowing us to witness and learn from your glorious battles with FD! My deepest condolences, Janine
What a precious friend... I'm so very sorry to read that he's left you - but rest assured, he's at peace, no more pain or discomfort as he's shed his earthly bonds and is flying freely with no pain, no tears...sweet thing fly free!
Oh Janine, I am so sorry it was Floyd's time to leave you. My heart aches for the pain you are experiencing right now. Oddly enough, I was just thinking of you and Floyd a couple of weeks ago. Those acro kitties are extra special, and I am SO very glad that Floyd found his way to you. It was so obvious you loved him well. Sending you many hugs, and vines of love, comfort, and peace during this difficult time. Fly free sweet Floyd and land softly.
{{{Janine}}} Of course we remember Floyd, and you as well - our first member who is a vet! I am so sad to learn that Floyd has crossed the Bridge. I know that he had the best possible life with you, and that you went above and beyond for him. Letting him go when he was ready was the ultimate gift of love. You have my deepest sympathy and my prayers for peace for you and your family. Remember, he will never really be gone, because he will always be in your heart. Fly free, Floyd, and land softly.
