Yesterday's thread!
Yesterday's convo about needing to be more consistent with Esse's AM cycle snacks came at a good time. The PetLibro auto-feeder we ordered arrived! I have mentioned before that Esse is not very good about eating unsupervised--my hope is that we can train him to use the auto-feeder so he will more reliably eat mid-cycle snacks when we're not home. We will start by putting high-value treats/toppers on his pate in there so he associates the device with being 'worth it' to investigate. We'll probably also have to physically bring him to it at first, but it does make a sound so hopefully he'll eventually know to go to it when he hears the noise. Although I noticed that the ding it makes is VERY similar to the ding of the robot vacuum, which he hates, lol. Hopefully he's smart enough to tell the difference.
Sam and I have our first trip TOGETHER since starting Esse on insulin coming up in about a month. So if the training works and he does start using it, this will be huge for our peace of mind while we're gone.
