Morning Lantus Land - this is a catch-up post. In about 40 minutes I need to leave the hotel & take Lanky to the CSU hospital for his 3rd SRT treatment. All is well, in fact very well. I need to figure out how (or if I even can) post many slides from our trip so far, PM me if you have pointers. I already posted many pics on FaceBook as it is only a 1-click operation from my Mac Laptop.
Lanky is getting 1/2 his regular Lantus does in the AM & full dose (12u) in the PM. We are to expect his BG to be all over the board this week so I am not worrying too much about it. I asked Dr. Lunn if we will see BG responses to treatment this soon & she said no. Nevertheless, Lanky's condition seems markedly improved in many ways: minimal sneezing, more comfortable breathing, perkier, regular poo/p; water consumption down, no meatloaf positions, happier. We also had his heart checked out, his eyes, and now his ears. Heart is OK, eyes are dry & need Refresh Liquigel (1drop ea eye 3Xday). He has fluid in his ears & may have yeast/bacteria that we will know more about today. He is catching on to the morning routine though and is a bit on guard, plus annoyed that he must fast. He makes up for the fasting by having a big, long dinner and afternoon snacks.
The attached photo is the medical staff: Dr. Lunn, Student Flower, Resident Jessica, & Dr. LaRou.
Hope you all are well & all the kitties too.
