If it makes you feel better, the first time we saw <40 logic and memory went totally out the window and I gave him a TABLESPOON of honey in a little wet food. He barfed like ten minutes later (which I now understand is not uncommon with that much honey) and I tried again with a smaller amount, lol. The panic was real.reading it again it definitely says a tsp of gravy and a few drops of syrup.. which is what kim said
Oh my goodness I would have been so shook if he threw upIf it makes you feel better, the first time we saw <40 logic and memory went totally out the window and I gave him a TABLESPOON of honey in a little wet food. Morning! Just wanted to see what we think of bear bear’s pm cycle, about shooting the 0.1Looks very good! Keep sticking with LC if you can. Steady as you go, Bear.
On it!!I think it would be ok to try 0.1u and see how he does, especially if you can watch his cycle today. The main consideration in trying to get to remission is you want to see numbers overall under 100, with only an occasional number in 100-120, but mostly in the range of a healthy cat which is 50-80 before stopping insulin. Sometimes kitties need a little bit of support to get into that range. In most cases when we stop insulin too soon, and kitty hasn’t yet achieved more consistent numbers in greens, it can happen that insulin needs to be restarted and it really is like starting over again. Unfortunately there really isn’t any way to predict what Bear will do.
It’s ok. No worries. It happens to us all at the beginning. That was my mistakenewbies here! I thought under 50 was considered a hypo! Either way, a shock to my system lol now i just feel silly all the way around!
He used to get a food bump for his regular LC, but it seems less these daysi guess i was worried food wasnt enough to bring him up alone
