Now I know that the 94 was food-influenced, not Lily's BG rising on its own.
After today's numbers the next stage dose-wise is go to a
drop of insulin (see the Fine Dosing sticky). As we know from the interlude between Vetsulin and Lantus, Lily's pancreas has shown signs of producing pulses of insulin after food and also some level of a steady trickle between feeds on her normal schedule. In addition we now know that she has had a very strong response to the Lantus. Based on those observations it looks like Lily is likely very close to achieving remission (anti-jinx!) but still needs a
tiny bit of support to get her all the way. I think that she's so close that twice a day dosing isn't a realistic prospect. (If my cat were in this situation I would not give insulin twice a day - even a drop dose.) I'm tagging
@tiffmaxee to ask her to look at Lily's spreadsheet and give some input on approach needed for her.
