That's what I was angling for. :)

Just to confirm I understand properly, Lily is now at 94 +12.5 hours after this morning's dose and hasn't had anything to eat since the few teaspoons of 15% carb food at AM+10. Have I got that right?

.
No, I gave her regular FF, just a teaspoon at +10 and then she ate her regular FF dinner and a couple teaspoons of the gravy lovers at +12. N

Thanks, Sally. Now you see why I ask for clarifications! :) Now I know that the 94 was food-influenced, not Lily's BG rising on its own.

After today's numbers the next stage dose-wise is go to a drop of insulin (see the Fine Dosing sticky). As we know from the interlude between Vetsulin and Lantus, Lily's pancreas has shown signs of producing pulses of insulin after food and also some level of a steady trickle between feeds on her normal schedule. In addition we now know that she has had a very strong response to the Lantus. Based on those observations it looks like Lily is likely very close to achieving remission (anti-jinx!) but still needs a tiny bit of support to get her all the way. I think that she's so close that twice a day dosing isn't a realistic prospect. (If my cat were in this situation I would not give insulin twice a day - even a drop dose.) I'm tagging @tiffmaxee to ask her to look at Lily's spreadsheet and give some input on approach needed for her.

Sounds good Mogs. I just tested her at +1 and she is 124. I can breathe now! LOL.

You did great, Sally. :bighug:

It's really tricky negotiating the last leg of the journey to the Falls when you've got a 'sputtery' pancreas in the mix. Strange things can happen. For example, on one of Saoirse's few low runs both the member coaching me at the time and myself got a bit of a land when I fed Saoirse a couple of teaspoons of 'low but slightly higher carb than normal' food to help keep her numbers in the normal range. Instead of a bump, her BG dropped after the grub! :nailbiting: I fed her something else and it came back up again very quickly but it was a bit of a brown trouser moment. I subsequently discovered that her BG levels were better on foods around the 6% mark than they were on foods with fewer carbs. Some cats roll that way.

I couldn’t find anything about a drop of insulin in the Fine dosing sticky. Can you tell me what it is?
