Last Night:
413 PMPS
450 +2
315 +11

J.D. ate some MC FF Medleys at AMPS this morning, and ate some LC FF Chicken after that.
His last dose of Orbax was last night, so hopefully stopping those will help his tummy a bit.
I can't wait until we're back to just 1 Denamarin in AM and 1 Azodyl in PM, keeping track of all these meds and supplements is a lot of work.

J.D. is currently laying out on the deck. I may try to see if he wants to go for a short walk. We've been doing really short walks these past few mornings.

Ginger has a new job. She is to chase the blue jays away when they try to eat the squirrels peanuts that I throw out. A lot of times I have one or two sets of 1 mother bringing 1 baby with her to my porch in the mornings to beg for peanuts. This morning there were 3 babies, and their mothers were out and about. So, it makes me happy that the moms thought it was okay to station their babies in front of my house to play.

Hi Dyana,
I am so glad J.D. ate some for you this evening.
Sending more appy vines and feel better vines.

Lucy has been getting acupuncture on/off over a year, to improve the function of her organs, tummy, pancreas and such, as well as to boost her mood.
From March to July last year, she had sessions with one of the vets at our regular clinic, and I think she had less than a year experience when we started.
Because she went on a maternity leave, we found a different vet, and had house call sessions with her from December to April this year.
This vet had much longer experience.
But I like the first vet with less experience because she was more gentle and she took time and care to keep Lucy calm.
Lucy was more relaxed during the sessions with the first vet, usually fell almost asleep, and perked up more after the sessions with the first vet.
I think that the first vet was just more talented, just "had it" in her, despite less experience, so personally I wouldn't worry too much about "how many years" the vet has been practicing acupuncture.
The 1st vet will be coming back from her leave next month, so I'm going to start sessions with her again.
We can compare notes then. :-D
Thank you :YMHUG: . I do need someone to compare notes with, as this is all so new to me. I almost wish I could start it sooner. Will he be sore after the first session? I like the way they schedule one hour for the initial exam and session.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Sending healing vines out to all who need some, and some to J.D. too.

Re: 06/17 J.D. AMPS 348

It sounds like J.D. may be feeling a tad better, but I hope that the discontinued use of the orbax will make his tummy feel better.

Good Job Ms. Ginger! those blue jays are little piggies and can be big bullies! So glad you got your squirrel family around. I haven't seen many squirrels here this year, and haven't seen any babies

Re: 06/17 J.D. PMPS 408

It feels like it's a hundred and fifteen degrees outside and just miserable out there, and I am sitting in my air conditioned house and my kitties are laying outside :? with fur coats on, mind you :-|

Most food was eaten when I got home from work and J.D. left me a nice prezzie. He went to drink from his watering can, which I emptied and refilled as I think they did were scheduled to do some week work here, and you never know if they sprayed and it got in J.D.'s water supply. He is now laying on the wood deck enjoying some outside time, and just ate in huge mouthfuls, his 1st Dinner at +1. That makes my heart smile :) Ginger is laying (in an even longer coat but with less under coat) on the cement porch watching the squirrels and birds.

I haven't given J.D. any "meds" yet tonight. I don't think he needs cyproheptadine or ondansetron or buprenex. Knock On Wood. I can give him his normal Azodyl and some probiotics later to combat the ABs he just finished up last night.

I think I can start to get back to normal, and start some laundry and fix some dinner and get a good night's sleep.

This weekend is a 3 dayer for me :), and I can work on his BGs some more then, and then on Monday is his initial exam and acupuncture session. I hope it helps him to squat easier and poop easier and get up from a laying position to a standing position and from a standing position to a laying position easier. I am hopeful.

I brought the kitties in at +2 and J.D. ate some left over food. I think he will eat more, but I haven't tried yet. I did end up giving him his bupe just now, just to be on the safe side and to keep him comfortable.

ETA: He just ate some more food (LC even :thumbup ).

Off to bed.

I am so happy that J.D ate so much for you today!! Keep up the good work, J.D.!!
Keeping my fingers crossed that he continues on this path.
Spot is outside on his chair now. He didn't have a chance to do it earlier cuz mom was busy. Seems the heat does not hit them as much as it does us.
Oh, you have a three day weekend coming up! Yea!

it does sound like his appy really picked up today! great news! :thumbup

punkin had acupuncture. not sure if you've seen the video in my signature line of one of his acupuncture sessions. he tolerated them ok, except the one time that the vet attached electrodes. That wasn't until maybe the 6th session or so. He really reacted to that, but except for the electrodes it was fine.

the needles cause a release of endorphins, and punkin would just collapse on the table when they hit him. I didn't observe anything that seemed like pain, though, and certainly he didn't have any problem afterwards. people have told me that it feels like "buzzing" when they have the needles in. I would assume JD will do fine with it. :YMHUG:
