Indy is staying pretty smooth. Went a little higher last night (he tends to at night for some reason) but stayed around 160, so I will still consider it a win.

Indy is doing great but my anxiety has me in its death grip. It feels like it is just looking for things to be wrong. Spinning worse case scenarios in my head and going total doomsday. My brain has me.convinced there is something desperately wrong with Indy because of his every once in awhile cough combined with the gallop heartbeat. It has me deep diving on the Internet about heart failure and heart disease....even lung cancer. I emailed the vet last night asking if we should do the chest x-ray or anything. I'm waiting to hear back.

Let's be honest though, he is almost 18 years old. Would it really be all that surprising if he has heart disease? Nope. He is acting well for an old man. He was running down the hallway this morning, begging for his morning beef liver treat as I was leaving for work and jumping up on the table/couch/desk looking for attention. He has put the weight back on that he lost from the diabetes diagnosis. I should be so happy with how well he is doing and stop looking for trouble. But my anxiety won't let me go. Sorry for the rant, I had to put it somewhere and I figured this group would at least understand where I am coming from.

Hope everyone has a nice day today with smooth surfing for kitties.

Awww Jessica, I for one totally understand the depth of your anxiety and worry.

I do the same things and it’s so hard when they have multiple things going on 😢🫂
I think you’re in good company around here.

Try to look at the positives you mentioned, all good things for Indy! 💕💕💕

Thank you Staci. <3 Indy is my oldest cat to date. Both of my previous kitties crossed the rainbow bridge at 17. One due to cancer in his jaw and the other due to a mass in her bladder (combined with stage IV CKD). Indy has his issues....but I am grateful that he doesn't have more going on. I have checked his bloodwork multiple times to make sure he doesn't have other issues. I don't know if I am just having a hard time getting it through my thick skull that he is an old man but I am borrowing trouble and I am borrowing grief.

I know, I understand exactly how you are feeling. We never have them long enough 😢🥰💕

So we think Indy might have found himself a snack this morning that he wasn't supposed to. Hubby found spilled tortilla chips on the floor and Indy may have helped himself. He is still under 150, but definitely higher than yesterday.

Indy Pic for cat tax. Think my old man is feeling pretty good.
