6/9 Jax AMPS 109 +4 61

Normally back to back reductions have a tendency to fail. That's one of the big downsides of SLGS as compared to TR where one does not take back-to-back reductions. However, in this case, there is a food change to consider, so it's better to err on the side of caution. It's possible that Jax's insulin needs are reducing significantly with the removal of DM.

Good luck with the reduction! :-)

Yeah I’ve been a little worried about the back to back reductions. Any recommendations on what to keep an eye on when being on such a low dose?
I’m thinking trying to hold .5u for at least a week. But if he keeps going below 90 I won’t be able to reduce much more and I don’t want to stop the insulin completely. Just trying to make sure I do this right!

Thank you!!

If I remember right, he's still getting some DM and switches to 100% Dr. Elsey's from tomorrow?

I would just keep reducing per SLGS for now. Let's see where he lands once he's eating only low carb food. After 0.5u, there's 0.25U, 0.1U and a drop dose.

Correct. I am going to be feeding him 100% Dr Elseys tomorrow morning.

That sounds like a plan. As you can see his + 4 is 61. Seeing all this green on his spread sheet is going to cause a constant back to back reduction. Looks like I’m going to do .25u tonight? It’s definitely confusing me but maybe this is just a really good sign. He’s acting normal and happy and I really don’t have any concerns about him as of right now.
