Fluff's AMP @97 this morning...Does this mean his dose of 2.75U's should decrease?

Due to his HI BG's, It was recommended to increase dose to 3U's. I was planning on doing that this morning for AMPS shot. However, since his BG is below 100, I'm concerned about giving a full shot at the current 2.75U.

Need advise URGENT...his shot time is NOW as I am writing this. 8:45am EST

You would hold the dose (2.75U). Do not increase. Will you be able to monitor him if you give insulin? With SLGS you can shoot any number over 90.

He earns a reduction if he drops below 90.

Ok...I just gave him a full dose of 2.75U 20 mins late

Thank you so much for responding so quickly. I just can't seem to keep it straight. I haven't been able to keep him from bouncing. He's eating all wet food 90% of the time maybe higher, but let me just say the only time he gets any dry food is when I put the community dish down and get distracted and he helps himself, usually after he's been fed wet food. I never put the community dish down until he's been fed. This may happen 1x or 2x a week that he gets a nibble at the HC food. I typically remembered after the fact usually within moments of realization that he left my sight and went to the next room where the community dish is for the other 6 cats.

I literally cannot multi task when that community dish is down unless I lock Fluff up which I resort to if I cannot sit there and monitor the situation. Fluff will come to the bowl and stop at least 2 foot away cause he knows I'm there and watching and he knows he's NOT allowed to eat it. But when momma's not looking, he eats.

At times, I on occasion give him Dr. Elsey's LC dry food about 1 tbsp as a topper but it STILL DRIVES UP his BG's so I use it in frequently.

He's been really bad for the past couple weeks at shot time, pulling away, being resistant. He's fed up with these shots! It's just what we go thru. I feel so bad!

He responded to the threat of an increase I see. I have a favor to ask. Would you please not add the line after the bg reading. It looks like a three digit bg.

Several of those people you tagged for an urgent matter this morning, live on the west coast and hence were asleep. It's much better to change your subject line and add something like "need help on dose", so people who are on the board, can easily see that you need help.

When you shoot your lowest preshot yet, it's a good idea to get a +1 and a +2, to get a hint how that cycle will play out, and whether you need to intervene early with carbs. If you shot, please fill in the value on the spreadsheet.

No clue on the behaviour question. Might be a better general question for the Feline Health forum instead of the insulin group.

If your schedule can accommodate the delay, you can still shoot. You can make up the delay by 30mins per day.

So if you shoot at 10:15pm tonight, you can shoot at 9:45 am/pm tomorrow, 9:15 am/pm the day after and back to 8:45 am/pm from Sunday
