Yesterday.

Today is the one year anniversary of Ruby's diabetes diagnosis and she is now officially a long-term diabetic. It's a bittersweet thing for me, as I had hoped long ago that she would go into remission, but chances are with this SCL diagnosis that she would have had to go back on insulin anyway. I'm grateful for the time I've had to learn how to use insulin and not have to juggle the learning curve of dealing with lymphoma at the same time. We manage day by day, and she continues to be the sweet, calm, confident kitty that we know and adore.

Hope everyone had a nice Wednesday. :bighug:

Katherine you are doing such a great job with our Ruby!
I just want to love her up!
Ruby is a warrior!
You better watch out, you're in NY and I'm in Jersey, I might just come and snatch her up:p
Are you in the city?
You must be getting the rain right now, it's like a monsoon out there, the wind is crazy.
I see it's supossed to rain tomorrow also
Holy crap you wouldn't believe the thunder I just heard, it was like a bomb going off
Scared the s**t out of me
I hope we don't lose power

I'm in Hoboken now, so very close to you. Our basement is already flooded again. :banghead: I know there is a tornado warning also, and after watching the Wizard of Oz as a child I am terrified! I don't think we will lose power.

And you know I adore you, dear, Diane, but you're not snatching up my Ruby. :)

I just remembered you moved to Hoboken , I was looking at your profile
Sorry about your basement that sucks
You are just a train ride away from me, ok I won't snatch her up :p
Give her a big fat wet kiss for me :bighug::bighug:

Katherine,
Please give Ruby a big kiss from me too. I have a civvie, a wobbly girl, Molly, who likely has SCL (learned today). Immediately thought of you and Ruby. I've been reading again/ reviewing since sweet Rubes was diagnosed back in June. I'm familiar with her journey along the way, from almost remission from FD to current. All your knowledge is a blessing and I feel even more bonded with Ruby now that my sweet 14 yr old "baby" has similar issues. Bless you and GO Ruby - you are loved, baby girl - by many folks all over the world:bighug::kiss::bighug:

I'm not far from you (Essex County)... power has flickered a few times and the garage is getting wet as usual, but other than that so far so good. But I'm up on a ridge. I'm seeing lots of flooding reported in the lower areas around me.

I am so very sorry to hear about Molly, Jan! It's not easy news to take. Did you do a biopsy? I hope you feel heartened that Ruby is mostly ok. I worry about her BGs and her constipation but otherwise she is doing just fine. It's a slow moving disease and remission is possible. Please let me know if you need anything. Sending you so many warm hugs. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

:bighug: Think of it as a milestone for how far you have come, and how much you've learned since 9/1/20? You're an expert on FD and many other cat maladies, and that didn't come easy.
