Thank you! Yep I can stay up with him to monitor. I'm nervous to make the call myself thoughHi Nate,
Looks like the 3.5U dose is finally showing you what it can do. Can you monitor if you shoot tonight?

We normally ask people who are new to skip the shot below 150. You have enough data but shooting would mean staying up and testing and feeding Brian for the next 6 hours at least. Unless he bounces from these beautiful blues. Which he could.Thank you! Yep I can stay up with him to monitor. I'm nervous to make the call myself though
I could stay up and test like that if it was a good idea? I have noticed he doesn't seem to rise at much at all with food 25-35 (fancy feast). I was just reading the protocol again, which said delaying the dose might be an option? I do have time to adjust my schedule to that too.We normally ask people who are new to skip the shot below 150. Have you by any chance decided on which dosing protocol to follow? TR or SLGS?
Thank you for replying. Yeah I thought that m meant coming off a bounce (which I was relieved about!). I can definitely be checking him for the next 6 hours. His appetite is good, just gave him another can of ff nowLooks like he has just come off a bounce and he was still dropping at PMPS.
If you shoot I would start by getting a +1 and a +2.
Is he eating well?
Yep I have boxes of strips. Have honey. Have hills glucose dry food which spikes him and he hasn't been getting any of that for over a month now, I almost wondered if I should put a few in with his food now?He may continue to drop without food. Do you have enough test strips? Medium and high carb food? Honey?
If you can monitor and have supplies, you can shoot!![]()
Thank you for helping meGreat! Then shoot him. Get a +1 and +2. And post it here.
What% is your MC and HC?
No. We avoid dry. You can increase the % of carbs in your wet food by adding a little honey.Yep I have boxes of strips. Have honey. Have hills glucose dry food which spikes him and he hasn't been getting any of that for over a month now, I almost wondered if I should put a few in with his food now?
Looks like you have to go shopping one of these days for MC and HC food. Fancy Feast has some MC and HC versions as well.MC is hills glucose support dry. For high I always planned to give him honey in milk, his all time favourite (leftovers) that I think got him here in the first place
Awesome thank you. I'll give him his shot now and post any numbers I get. Thank you everyoneNo. We avoid dry. You can increase the % of carbs in your wet food by adding a little honey.
Just feed him his usual meal and shoot. We will see about using higher carbs later in the cycle if required.
Please do get a +1 and a +2. Feed a little after every test.Awesome thank you. I'll give him his shot now and post any numbers I get. Thank you everyone
OK will do. I gave him an extra half can, and he is up to 120 already. Please do get a +1 and a +2. Feed a little after every test.
Btw, I've just started dosing with callipers and it's much more accurate that eye-balling the dose - even with half unit syringes and magnifiers etc.
120 before food? He may just bounce....let's see...OK will do. I gave him an extra half can, and he is up to 120 already.
Are you priming it first?OK will do. I gave him an extra half can, and he is up to 120 already.
Just ordered some calipers and some syringes with the half way marks. Hoping that makes things easier to see. I'm having a hard time with the syringe itself feeling stiff when I'm trying to get to the right place![]()
OK gotcha. How often should I be testing in the next two hours?120 before food? He may just bounce....let's see...
Don't fill him up. You may need him to eat a little every hour to keep him surfing if he decides to go lower.
Why syringes do you use? Before drawing insulin, move the plunger up and down a few times to spread the lubricant in the syringe.
I have been, doesn't seem to make it much smoother though, might need to do it more? Are you priming it first?
Probably. Try it. I keep doing it until the plunger runs smoothly.I have been, doesn't seem to make it much smoother though, might need to do it more?
Ok I'll keep trying with that one, hopefully I get the hang of it!Probably. Try it. I keep doing it until the plunger runs smoothly.
Please get a +1 and post the reading![]()

awesome thank you for the assistance. Glad he's ok! I'll check in tomorrow to see what I need to look for from here, if he'll eventually stop bouncing with consistency if the dose is right etc? Thanks again!Definitely a bounce. You can call it a night.
I think you can hold the dose a little longer. Right @Bron and Sheba (GA) ?
Yes hold the dose. When you first start seeing blue BGs you hold the dose for at least 8-10 cycles.I think you can hold the dose a little longer. Right @Bron and Sheba (GA) ?
