4/2/21 Brian +1 137

Thank you! Yep I can stay up with him to monitor. I'm nervous to make the call myself though
We normally ask people who are new to skip the shot below 150. You have enough data but shooting would mean staying up and testing and feeding Brian for the next 6 hours at least. Unless he bounces from these beautiful blues. Which he could.

Have you by any chance decided on which dosing protocol to follow? TR or SLGS?

I could stay up and test like that if it was a good idea? I have noticed he doesn't seem to rise at much at all with food 25-35 (fancy feast). I was just reading the protocol again, which said delaying the dose might be an option? I do have time to adjust my schedule to that too.

I'm going with tight regulation :)

He may continue to drop without food. Do you have enough test strips? Medium and high carb food? Honey?

If you can monitor and have supplies, you can shoot! :-)

Looks like he has just come off a bounce and he was still dropping at PMPS.
If you shoot I would start by getting a +1 and a +2.
Is he eating well?
Thank you for replying. Yeah I thought that m meant coming off a bounce (which I was relieved about!). I can definitely be checking him for the next 6 hours. His appetite is good, just gave him another can of ff now

Yep I have boxes of strips. Have honey. Have hills glucose dry food which spikes him and he hasn't been getting any of that for over a month now, I almost wondered if I should put a few in with his food now?

No. We avoid dry. You can increase the % of carbs in your wet food by adding a little honey.

Just feed him his usual meal and shoot. We will see about using higher carbs later in the cycle if required.

Awesome thank you. I'll give him his shot now and post any numbers I get. Thank you everyone

Please do get a +1 and a +2. Feed a little after every test.

Btw, I've just started dosing with callipers and it's much more accurate that eye-balling the dose - even with half unit syringes and magnifiers etc.

OK will do. I gave him an extra half can, and he is up to 120 already.

Just ordered some calipers and some syringes with the half way marks. Hoping that makes things easier to see. I'm having a hard time with the syringe itself feeling stiff when I'm trying to get to the right place :(

120 before food? He may just bounce....let's see...

Don't fill him up. You may need him to eat a little every hour to keep him surfing if he decides to go lower.

Why syringes do you use? Before drawing insulin, move the plunger up and down a few times to spread the lubricant in the syringe.

Are you priming it first?

OK gotcha. How often should I be testing in the next two hours?

And nope, went from 100 to 120 about 15 minutes after his food

Syringes are BD u100 with 30units. They have orange caps *

I see a 173 @+2. Is that right? You don't need to feed him a little now if you wouldn't normally, but I'd get a +4. Not sure if it's a bounce.

Thanks againnnn

+2 173

I'm guessing I really need to watch out for +3 +6? Or is he must likely in the clear now?

Sorry everyone I didn't get the notification here and my message didn't submit until now. Yup +2 173. He has had a can total more than he usually would have at this time, hoping its just that rather than heading up high again. Thank you all for the support
