Well yesterday was even worse than the day before and this morning's +11 is looking really bad. I know he's just settling into his new dose, but with DKA, how long should I give before it's considered a failed reduction? I know the dosing guidelines for TR, but with him having DKA and also being all over the place number-wise, I'm hesitant to make any changes on my own even if they're in the guidelines.

It can take up to 6 cycles to clear a bounce. If you don't see any greens today, I would be inclined to consider this a failed reduction and take the dose back up tomorrow.

Let us again hope that the 514 is the high before the bounce breaks!

I hope so as well. It was tough seeing because I know how he gets in 500s. I know he's not feeling good. I just hope he doesn't start peeing again.

Oh! Additional note: he's going to be very very happy within the next couple weeks. I'm building a catio for the deck! It's not going to be very big (4' wide, 4' long, 8' tall), but he will get some nice sun time with his brother and sister.

@Bandit's Mom You were right! we are at 63 at +8.25. He had a huge drop from 400 to 114. I feel a bit better now about the reduction.

Catio is also close to completion. I forgot 2 pieces of lumber so I will be getting them tomorrow. All but 1 side is done. Hopefully they can enjoy it by this weekend. It's definitely not professional quality, but I hope it's good enough for them.

I never plan to have human children, so these are our children and we want them happy lol.

So he went from 74 to 62 in the last hour, but it's 1.5 hours until shot time. I wanted to feed him food to help him surf and not drop low, but I should hold off food, yes?

Back in green! :D

If 62 was at +10, you could have fed him a little LC so he doesn't drop too low to shoot at PMPS. I don't see anything on your SS after 62.
Did you feed something at 74/+9?

62 WAS AT +10.5. I thought I added the .5, but I guess I didn't. it was less than 2 hours to shot time and not exactly +10, so I wasn't sure.

I have a new beast of a problem.

+4: 47!!

I was wondering what happened!

Yes, this is another reduction. Congrats! :-)

Considering how carb sensitive he is, higher carb LC may work as well. I am around.

I went to bed since my SO is afternoon shift this week, so he stays up until like, 3/4 AM. He tested and took care of everything. It was a rough day and I couldn't stay up. My grandpa was taken off life support at 8PM and I just needed to sleep.

Really sorry about your grandfather. Such a difficult decision to take!
Thank you. It's been a rough 2 years. My other grandpa died almost exactly 2 years ago, so it's just kinda like well now what.

So how long do you think I will need to monitor? It's only +4.

I gave LC and mixed a little bit of MC gravy in. It's just not a night I'm mentally prepared to handle this.

+4: 47
+4.5: 82

Well either that food kicked in real good or I'm anticipating a bounce.

Could be a bit of both. Considering how carb sensitive he is, the next time, if he drops to the high 40s, late in the cycle, you can try LC first. It's all trial and error.

Can SO, get a test after an hour without feeding? To see if he stays up without food? I don't think he should dive again, but better to be safe!

I'll stay up for another test in an hour. So no food? I'll test in 30 minutes just to make sure he doesn't dive, but I won't give food. Good?

Ya with it being early in the cycle, I just didn't even want to risk him going further. With how today was, I just wanted to be safer and ease my mind than panic about dropping even lower.

+4: 47 LC+MC
+4.5: 82 little LC
+5: 106 no food fed
+5.5: 107

So I haven't feed food since +4.5. Think I'm ok or is the flat from the last 30 min concerning?
