Hi, new here so I apologize if I'm not doing this right, i did a search in the group and found most topics about CBD Oil for Cats are all several years old and closed and focus more on pain relief/arthritis, appetite, cancer etc...
I was wondering if anyone here has tried to use CBD Oil for an aggressive cat that is extremely difficult when it comes to getting her insulin shots? My vet prescribed her Gabapentin to calm her down, but the dose seems like WAY too much imo (2ML is nearly half of the syringe to feed through her mouth, and that's supposed to be given 2 hours before every shot, which is twice a day.. even the receptionist was like that seems like a lot..maybe give her 1ML and wait a bit before giving her the second) I want to look into CBD as an alternative, as I don't feel comfortable with Gabapentin especially in the long run..
My Cat is extremely difficult when it comes to any treatment, and the SPCA is saying if we can't get her insulin injections under control and in routine, to not even miss a single shot, the next course will be to euthanize since no shelter will take her due to her diabetes and extreme temperament which I am 100% against... she's 8 and her only symptom is peeing/drinking a lot...it's not like she's 17+ and suffering so I DON'T want euthanasia to even be considered, but we're running out of options. Please try not to judge or be too harsh, it's been a really rough couple months and I already left the facebook group in fear that even the mention of euthanasia would lead to harsh criticizing seeing how some people there comment on other people's posts sometimes. I have a severe Anxiety disorder myself, and am already on the edge, pretty much breaking down at least once a day so I really don't need to be judged, just helped/educated.
