10/25 Tiny Sole: +11.5: 49!, +12: 84, +13: 144, + 14: 144, NS

Seems she still working the juice and of course all the honey and butter would be out of play now. You made the right choice tonight. :bighug: Sweet dreams Joanne! You definitely earned some serious nap time! :D

Or she's going down again before bed. Sleep is not overrated.

She is, going down, of course. Sleep...I have loved it as a child, through my adult years, but stress from work and life make it elusive for me enough as it is.

You made the right choice tonight.

Yes, with your help and Wendy & Neko's help. You are like having an extra bit of good judgment and a sound conscious.
I'll ever be grateful.

I just fed her some FF broths, creamy and will poke her one last time by 9:50 PM to see where she is.
I have other food on standby for throughout the night.
If she's in decent shape, I'll set an alarm for 3 AM - 10 to 3 is 5 straight hours, then check on her BG and hop back into bed for hopefully another 3 or 4, unless one of the other kids decides to puke through the night...which happens at least 4 out of 7 days. Oh, the life of cat moms...

I truly wish that the kitties have a good night and that the beans can rest.
I believe Tiny Sole is a girl on a mission to get into remission, and I'm ok with that.

Do the BOS come in a larger size? ...I think I need the next size up moving forward!

Looks like I missed all the commotion. Sorry, I hadn’t checked the email.

I see you’ve already decided. NS. Seems like a good choice. Tiny seems to bounce around a lot and not knowing where she’ll go is not good. Having higher BG for the night is FAR better than BG readings lower than 40 ...especially on an AT2. Good choice imo.

I don’t wanna complicate things Joanne but why not go buy a human meter for reference sake? They’re free most of the time...until you run out of test strips. But I get my strips off eBay for real cheap. If you’re happy with AT2, by all means use it. I personally see a 49 and think it’s a low, getting risky kinda number and I’m use to a Contour NextOne human meter. I’ve got like 4 of them cause they’re free.

If you’re interested, just shoot me a PM, I can send you the eBay store I buy from. Very fast, great prices.

Again, not telling you to switch. I just think it would be interesting for reference numbers. What was the 49 on a Contour (or similar) BG meter. From my research Contour and another brand (don’t remember the name) were considered most accurate/consistent.

My solution....sugar donuts in my freezer at all times.

What a great solution! And sullied food?! ...why yes, I've seen that sideways glare from all of my kitties many times.

Is there a reason that I'm not aware of that we need to give Honey right away if there are no symptoms?

I reacted rather than thinking that number through.
49 seemed REALLY low to me and the first time I experienced that number with Tiny, who showed no symptoms of being that low.
I thought to give her a drop of honey in butter directly after the 49 BG to at least get her up to a safer number.
Then, I fed her LC food directly after that little bit of honey and butter; I figured it was close enough to her time to eat anyway and I would give her a little more food at her actual meal time that was only 30 minutes away.
But then she threw up all the food, and I hoped the honey made it into her bloodstream at least, because she was not in the mood for more food after having vomited it all up. So, a tad more honey and butter just to get her numbers up.
Her BG slowly came up to 84, then after the next honey and butter and a small amount of a different LC food, it came up to 144, but I didn't think it would stay high, due to the honey, even though it was a small amount.

I needed her to be at a safe BG, and in my mind, the only thing I thought to do was what I did. I hope that makes sense.

It's 10 PM and her BG was 137.
This was after some FF broths, wild salmon and whitefish in a creamy sauce.
I wanted her numbers to come up so I can get some sleep.
If her numbers don't come up, I'm just going to worry in my sleep and then won't get any rest anyway!

I'm off to sleep and will get up anyway, so will test at that time, usually 2 or 3 AM.

Thanks again for the loving support.

Tiny sole appears to be on a mission :D

Try not to fret over skipping. Think of it as a fur shot. I did a fair bit of skipping during BKs periods of ‘free fall’ down the dosing ladder. When bounces become “bouncettes” (or stop altogether) and when even on the heels of a series of reductions downward momentum continues to heat up to the point you feel like you are constantly trying to rein in wild horses, a skip can help you catch your breath.
