Bear was born right around this time 10 years ago.
We had unseasonable rain storms that year and his mother abandoned him and two litter mates under a shed that flooded.
A well intentioned neighbor who had rescued the 3 kittens begged me to take care of them a few days later because they all had become weak with extreme diarrhea from drinking cows milk.
All of them still had their eyes closed.
I first rid them of their fleas, bottle fed them every 4 hours kitten milk substitute, gave them vitamins and they all recovered and thrived.
Two of them were adopted one male solid black and the other a female Calico.
It was fate that no one picked Bear to adopt because I knew he was the best with the most coordination and predatory skills plus he already had a piece of my heart.
I not so reluctantly added him to my family.

So Happy Birthday my Beautiful Black Bear!
Plus a HUGE thank you to this forum and all the members that have saved Bear's life more than once which allowed Bear to reach the big 10 year mark.
I guess Bear is Middle Aged now, lol.
