? Worried about vomiting and diarrhea

Hello,

I am really worried Theodore doesn't seem to have a great appetite today, I increased his dose to 3.75U last night and he's been sluggish today. I am panicking. He ate a little but not his usually appetite and he seems tired. Any ideas on what I can do to make him feel better? Waiting for him to pee so I can test for ketones. The blood monitor I have requires a ton of blood and last time I did not find it accurate at all.

Please note he had diarrhea yesterday and today a little at the end of it.

I’m sorry he’s not feeling well. Do you have cerenia or ondansetron? I’m concerned about dka if he’s not eating. Do you have fluids?

Sub q fluids? I do not have this

he has been eating a little just not the same which is why I am worried. Plus the vomit today. It was undigested dry food.

What do you have for nausea? See if you cam get him to eat wet food with water added. I hope you can get a ketone test soon.

@tiffmaxee suggested ondansetron..do you have any?
I would offer small amounts food with a teaspoon of warm water in each often and see if he can keep down that.
And get that test for ketones if possible.

I will ask the vet for cerenia in the morning. He’s been puking the last two weeks every 4-5 days. Typically clear but today had dry food so just worried

Were you asking about a reduction because he’s not feeling well? His symptoms are not due to the insulin increase if that’s what you are wondering.

Yes I was wondering about a reduction. I checked his pee just now for ketones. Negative for ketones. I got him to eat a different flavour. I am probably driving him crazy because I am just constantly checking on him. His pee was bright yellow orange and foamy.

Start a new thread for today please. I’m not going to be around much today so will make a suggestion here. When you see or talk to your vet get some fluids to give at home or at least have them give some. Sounds like he could be dehydrated. Have you ever given them before? If not the vet tech can show you how. For many cats it’s easy. I had one cat I could not do alone and needed help and with one of my current ones because she was tough. I could not administer and watch the bag at the same time because she would not stay still.
