We are transitioning to MPM (already kinda there) with the goal of keeping Starburst in 50-130 range as much as possible. I'm pretty sure we will be shooting at lower and lower PS numbers. Rather than ask here every time....is the general consensus when shooting lower than before just to test a lot and potentially steer with LC (or MC if get under 60) food, and don't shoot under 90? I wouldn't feel comfortable shooting if she isn't within 10-15 points of a previous PS anyway.

Puzzled at no response yet. What is MPM? A dosing style of your own?
I am too much of a newbie to offer any dosing comments.

Is MPM relating to CKD and binding to phosphorus?

Yes, unless there is something particular to your case (such as the diet change/phos binders) so maybe tag users who have been advising you since there have been no responses at this point?

I guess it is the weekend as well ;)

I've not seen it abbreviated that way. For the sake of clarity, you might want to note that in your signature or refer to it by name.

I did tag someone that had helped before, Janet either must not have seen it or I don't know.

Sorry no one has really had a response to this. You are correct that we do call it MPM on the ProZinc forum, but probably not a lot of people are familiar with it since it’s a lightly trafficked forum. It’s similar to TR on Lantus though. It seems like the people who usually respond to ProZinc questions haven’t been super active lately. Maybe @Shelley & Jess will be able to help.

I’m using Lantus now, but when I used ProZinc I gradually lowered the number the number that I was comfortable shooting at and just got lots of tests. 92 is the lowest number I ever shot, but he didn’t give me a lot of green pre-shots (quite a few blues though).

Thank you!!! That's what I'm doing. She was 120 this morning and that was too low for me to feel comfortable shooting yet (lowest has been 135). Since we are using the Libre and it reads interstitial fluid, not blood glucose (and therefore has a 10-15 minute "delay" on reporting the actual BG reading) I'm not comfortable going as low on her numbers at nadir.

Sorry I've not been active as much - but I agree with what you said (of course, since I helped you with it lol).

@StarburstMom exactly what she said - lower your comfort range by maybe 10 points or so at a time. I really wouldn't worry about the Libre lag unless you're starting to see numbers under 70 (at any point in the cycle). It was mentioned in your other post, token and reduced doses are also options. Any data is good data! Ultimately what you want to get to is a dose you can give consistently (vs skipping or reducing, etc). It can take a little bit of trial and error to get there, but Hilary's spreadsheet is a really good example of a cat in ProZinc (before the switch).
