I had NO IDEA what I signed up for
If you could have seen my face when we found out why Nigel was crawling over our heads for people food. I thought diabetic cats were fat cats eating the wrong food. Nigel was a lean and fit jungle cat. I don't think I would have had the Cajones to adopt a diabetic cat and I don't want another one right now.
Whatever you decide to do Ana it will take years for me to get your story out of my head and there's nothing you can do about it, so there!;)

How can anyone be too young for sarcasm? People that don't get it are the ones losing out.

share Trixie
I'm all for that. Everyone has seen my photo of Nigel and his best friend the dog. We can call the thread Trixie and Hannah (and dogs can love cats).
There's some strange behavior here. Lewis is acting out, Andy (Noah's basket buddy) is wandering around, Marco is just fixated with going outside.
So much for me taking some time off. It hasn't completely sunk in yet but I'm sure I'll be spending the weekend either obsessively cleaning or sleeping. Neither one of us has had a really good cry yet. Now I really am going, I promised a decent dinner tonight.

Trixie, Hannah, and the Droolers is up and ready to go. I hope others will share dog pics and stories. I can't wait to see beautiful Hannah.

Dickerson, so very very sorry for the passing of your sweet Noah. Words just can't express how someone who I never met before can lose a beloved furbaby and it can just break my heart for you, for us.......

Sending you lots of love and peace during this sad transition. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I’ve been following some of the stories here and reading the posts and learning about others who have so many challenges. I lost Merlin 7 weeks ago. His acro tumor was causing him a lot of discomfort and his vets were slow to diagnose it all. I had been in contact with AMC NY’s Dr. McCue to discuss his case and the chances of him being accepted into their program. His tumor got the best of him a few days before our phone consultation; I couldn’t let him suffer and hold on. I cried for days; he was the love of my life, really and truly. We would have ‘love sessions’ and my girlfriend said to me, “I want a man to look at me the way he looks at you.”

So I’ve been feeling all the loss here on these posts over again, but most especially the outpouring of love and friendship that so many of you have expressed here on this thread and others. I wish I had gotten on this forum earlier and been able to ask for help and comfort from you all. I got here the last week of his life and was immediately informed and guided from the experts who wanted Merlin and me to succeed. That’s is what this forum does and I hope to continue to give whatever support I can to those struggling.

For those of you that are reeling from your loss, I give you my heart and send all my love.

@Cynthia and Merlin It's too bad we can't give people two Likes because you deserve it. That was very sweet.

You've never seen these? I won't post them in full (again) and be a bandwidth hog but here she is. She weighed 60 pounds which is enormous for a female Border Collie, a real Alpha type but she would have loved Trixie and probably tried to groom Grandpa like she did with Nigel. All the cats adored her but she had some kind of connection with Nigel that could not be explained. Both of them in the car at the same time was just a riot. The black and white cat is Noah and Nigel's papa Jacob. They passed within weeks of each other.

It isn't too late for us to pull you into our hugs as we all try to heal from losing our babies. I'm so sorry about Merlin. The fact that you're here on this forum attests to how much you care and how lucky Merlin was to have you.

Hugs!!!
