I am caring for a litter of approx. four week old kittens, and have had them for about ten days. One of them was more dead than alive when I got them having been chilled to the point of being almost lifeless. Spirit, as I named him is thriving, except to my horror I just saw an indication on his ear simuilar to Becci's problems and he may have some spots on his foot pads..
Becci was a healthy thriving kitten for the first few days until I noticed a folding of her ear. This continued to get worse and I put oil on it thinking that it was just a skin problem. Then I noticed her tail looked funny and after a day or so it became apparent that it was dead. When I took her to the vet, she just peeled the edge of Becci's ear off, and then we immediately noticed the foot problem. All the pads, including toes are red and swollen, but do not seem to be painful. She is on CEFADROXIL and an application of Neosporin to the affected area. Becci's deterioration may have slowed or stopped, but skin continues to flake off.

I am taking Becci and Spirit to the vet tomorrow, but I would like to know if any of you have experienced or seen anything like this. Pododermititis (Pillow Foot) is one thing that I have looked at on the web.
UPDATE
I have given all the kittens back to their foster mom and if by looking at the photo link you can see that Becci is doing great.

However, she has lost the tips of at least two toes including the claws, and she will probably lose more. There is no known cause, the one vet said systemic infection the other said it looked like frostbite. AND, the condition had another effect--Becci is now Nottie for Notashi. She is a boy LOL.
Thanks
Bobby
