Understanding u100 vs u40

My girl was on 1u 2x a day Vetsulin. We have switched her to 1u 2x a day Lantus. Trying to understand if this means her dose was technically reduced?

Lantus is 2.5 times more concentrated than Vetsulin, meaning it takes that much less volume, hence the need for U-100 syringes that measure the smaller volume insulins. 1.0 unit of Lantus in a U-100 syringe is equivalent to 1.0 unit of Vetsulin in a U-40 syringe.
