Larry and Kitties

Very Active Member
I adopted Twigie almost two years ago as a recently diagnosed but not yet treated diabetic kitty. She was a beautiful, purebred Scottish Fold. She was a breeder kitty and was spayed late in life. At first it was hard getting blood from those little ears. However, they learned to bleed very easy. She did not like any of my other kitties and wold attack them if they go close. However, she liked my dog Raggy. It was easy to get her diabetes under control. I first tried Lantus but got little response. I then tried N. She was one of the few kitties that did well on N. I could maintain her BGs between 125 and 80 almost all the time except recently. I would routinely give her 2 units with a PS of 120 but she would only drop to a low of 80.

Last October she was diagnosed with mammary cancer with multiple tumors in both chains. Treatment was not recommended. She was fine but slowed as the tumors grew. Some of the tumors finally ulcerated and her appetite went down hill. I was time to say goodbye. I said goodbye at 1:35 PM today. It was a peaceful crossing. Life will go on.

I am so sorry but she was lucky to have you help her for her last years ..... the bridge is getting heavy,
I have many who will greet her. My thoughts are with you.

Aw, Larry, my deepest sympathy but you took such good care of her and she was loved for the few years you had her. I sending prayers that Mittens holds on a lot longer. So many lately...I am so sorry Twigie had to leave.

Twigie had some very good years with you, Larry. I'm sorry that it was her time to leave. Fly free on your beautiful new wings, Twigie! You are much loved.

In deepest sympathy,
Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA)

Weep not for me though I am gone into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will, but not for long upon my soul's sweet flight.
I am at peace, my soul's at rest
There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was so blessed.
For all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not,
The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts,
In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath
Remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death,
But celebrate my life.

So sorry for your loss Larry

I'm so sorry - but she was one of the lucky kitties - to find a home to give her love and security for the time she had - a precious gift to her.

Now she is free of pain - and young again

Larry,

I'm so sorry to hear that you have lost Twigie. I remember when the Purebreed people were looking for a placement for her. Yes, life does go on. But, you made a big difference in Twigie's life. She was cared for and loved.

Thanks for taking her and caring for her with diabetes and mammary tumors.

Bless you,

Claudia

Larry, I'm so sorry Twigie went ahead. I know that her last few years with you were her "loved" years. Not because of her great beauty or what she could provide... but for the treasure that was her... that you saw and loved. I'm so glad you were able to keep and love her and that she had your puppy dog to confide in when you weren't close. (((Larry))) I'm sorry.
