Thank you all so much for the love and support. It really means to much to Ron, Tucker and I, there is no better place than FDMB.

Last night there was not much change. He did go around the house when we got home, but after that he quieted down and spent the rest of the time in one place. He stayed where ever he was placed, no real movement from him. I placed him in the litter box a few times but there was nothing.

This morning he wasn't as 'gone' as he was yesterday morning. His tongue wasn't hanging out, I guess that's improvement, but not enough where I have any idea of what may happen today. Patti mentioned another steroid to discuss with the vet, so we will do that. My vet called me at about 6:30AM this morning, she said she was up during the night thinking about Tucker. I'm thankful that our family at the clinic loves Tucker as much as our family here does.

I wish everyone could meet him and could know just how special and amazing he is. I call him my little man and that's not really a nickname, it's the truth. He has gone to stores with me, he has hung out with large dogs at Purrfectly Spoiled Pet Boutique when they were open and held parties in the back. He's even picked out his own toys and bedding when we've gone there. Some of you may remember the story of how Tucker got the bed with the huge feathers all over it. He has posed with Santa and gone for drives to the beach with my husband. He's also scared the salesmen where DH works because he used to come to the dealership on his leash and walk around. One gentleman thought Tucker was a bobcat and to this day is still frightened by Tucker's photo.

He's a strong cat and I will give him time to try to rally, but as a strong cat, with a strong will, letting him linger as a shell is not something I can do, but I don't want to rush any decision.

It's also strange to know that Kiki joins our family tomorrow and I wish it could be a happier home for her to come into, but at the same time, as much as I want everything to stop and to only concentrate on Tucker, things have to move forward. Lilly Grace is proof of that. When all I want to do is hold Tucker and ignore the world, Lilly Grace reminds me that I must feed her and bring her outside to use the facilities. With her severe CH she can be emotional. This morning was not a good morning for her. She's always been close to Tucker and Sam and right now she knows there is something wrong. She refused to let me feed her and refused to go to the bathroom. Perhaps the smell of Tucker on me is too much for her. Ron is taking care of feeding her and bringing her to the outdoor spot.

Again, thank you all so much for your support and advice. I will upload some photos and post his photobucket account soon.

Re: Tucker, Friday update

Tucker sounds like an amazing guy - so much more than a 'cat'. I hope that you find peace in your time with him.

Re: Tucker, Friday update

Jenn, I'm sorry your family is going through this. Every cat is special but there are a few that seem extra special somehow and Tucker is one.

Sending hugs that he continues to improve

Re: Tucker, Friday update

Good morning!

And a good report; I am happy. Tucker is family; loved no less than any other member. It's got to be tough on all the other members of the household, the family; one is hurting, the others worry and get upset. I hope that you can bring some comfort to Lily Grace, but you may see some positive changes when Kiki arrives. I saw improvements when Ollie was adopted, and then more improvements with all the others when I brought Apple home.

Teeny steps, progress forward, is better than nothing or stepping backwards. Tucker is strong and I am sure he will let you know how he's doing and what he wants. I hope you get some good word on that steroid and see if it can help some.

I hope you can give Tucker, and Lily Grace, some pats and scratches and kind words for me.
I'll be hoping for more teeny steps forward from Tucker.

Re: Tucker, Friday update

Gosh Jen, I am SO sorry to hear this. Merlin and I are sending best wishes, purrs and prayers to you, Tucker and your family.

Re: Tucker, Friday update

Thank you all so much. He seems a little better. They were able to get 10 ml of A/D into him. He's awake, not really all there, but more aware than yesterday.

Hoping the steroid blast continues to help and reduces the swelling.

Re: Tucker, he is GROOMING himself :)

I can't believe this. I hung up with Dr. L and she called back two minutes later all excited to tell me his is grooming himself. This is amazing. I don't know what to make of that, but I love it.

He's to come home tonight and stay home this weekend with pred 10mg BID and subqs with potassium supplement.

Re: Tucker, he is GROOMING himself :)

Terrific that he is feeling good enough to groom -- the steroid blast seems to be helping.

If you can't get the prednisolone, maybe the increased dose of prednisone will do the job.

We're home and Tucker can see. He climbed onto a dresser and he used his scratching post. He even ate dinner, not his dinner, he took it from Sam because I didn't know he would eat.

He's gone and hit Bean on the head, but she deserved that for biting his head yesterday. She also tried to bite his tail yesterday too, so she needed a smack on the head.

Tucker is now sitting on top of his cedar house in the cat's room. I put my hand in front of his face and he backed away so I know he saw my hand, plus he got himself onto his cedar house.

By the way, he has energy as you can see since he's climbing and eating. I cannot believe this turn around and my stomach is in knots hoping this is not temporary.

He's to stay on 10 mg Pred and his potassium BID for a while and for now we'll wait and see.

Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts, prayers and hopes for Tucker. He really does feel them and I cannot express how much it means to me that this Board always pulls for Tucker and for me.

((((Jen)))) I'm just now seeing this ...... my heart stopped when I saw your first post and now here is some really good news!

Sending LOTS of hugs and prayers that Tucker continues to improve...what a guy!!

Yay!! Way to go Tucker, just keep it up big guy, we are all pulling for you!

((((((((Jennifer))))) It is just so dang scary when they get sick like that.

Still sending prayers and purrs for our Tucker.

I went shopping, came back and now Tucker can see again!!!!
This is just incredible. It's great to hear Tucker is acting like his old self.
Yay!

Such good news. Yea!!!!!

P.S. If you use more baby food, I just read you should get beachnut. If you can't find that
just make sure the one you get doesn't have onions, as some babyfood manufactures add them.
Maybe you won't need it as he is swipping someone else's food

Bless his little heart... He wants to see this newcomer and show her the ropes... ((((Jennifer))))) so glad to read this... Hope all continues to go so very very well...

I've been picking up snippets of Tucker's story from other threads and I'm just so happy for you both! What an awesome, awesome turnaround!
