Last week I brought Trink in for her yearly rabies shot; this is the first one she's had with me-her other one she got as a baby before I adopted her. When we got home a little while after she went in the litterbox and threw up a ton and never went to the bathroom. There was a hair ball in her puke, so throwing up may or may not be part of this reaction, but usually she doesn't throw up that much with a hair ball. Later I smelled an awful smell and Dave and I went looking around the house for the source. Dave found a pile of poop in my bedroom on the FLOOR that looked like it was left by a huge dog. It was SO weird!!! She's NEVER done anything like this!!!
The main symptoms were increased respirations and continuous shaking of her paws and chewing/biting at them. She's never done this before. It was really weird to see. She also couldn't settle down for about 6 hours after. She was very restless. By the next morning thankfully the symptoms had passed. I called the vet to tell her what happened and she said it did indeed sound like a reaction and that she would report it to PureVax. She also said Trinket wouldn't need to get the vax anymore which I am very happy about. She's an indoor cat so there shouldn't be an issue hopefully.
Did this ever happen to anyone else?
