Triditis -> IBD + DM(which is just insane to deal with). Please assist.

Aloha from Hawaii, I am having some issues. My cat developed triditis and ended up with IBD(we believe he had IBD before hand and the triditis just made it worse) and DM and none of the proteins we have tried seem to relieve him so we are stuck with either royal canin/hills dry (as he hates the texture of the wet stuff) we have him on Budesonide(1mg) so if you all have any info we would appreciate it.
 
What proteins have you tried so far? There are some freeze dried raw novel proteins or air dried (Ziwipeak) that might provide the crunch he wants, and are also low carb. We have one member trying one of the Young Again products which I think is hydrolized pork and low carb dry food.
 
on our island we don't have many choices RE: novel proteins and are just exploring what might work better for him.
 
Another option may be to make your own cat food. Some people use a meal completer like Alnutrin or EZComplete. If you can find a novel protein where you live, pork or lamb as examples, then you can make food. Another option is to buy the ingredients to make your own completer. Our cat with IBD wasn’t doing great when we transitioned to Budesonide. Her symptoms improved significantly when recently we added a probiotic to her regimen. Along with a novel protein diet.
