Hello everyone Sunday 13th Trey is being his old self like where is the food he ate early and then almost made it 2 hours without foor before his test but came out licking his lips Oh darn forgot to put Dog`s food away so he was trying some BBQ pork.So it is 302BG at 8:30. Being very nosey this morning he is. I gave him his shot so hoping it was not a furshot will test at +3 see what is going on.... Still feeling good that cutting him back in units is a good thing even if he is a bit up Right LOL Kath

Your doing great Kath! I'm glad Trey is feeling better and you feel good about cutting his dose back. I see that he is quite the crafty cat. Dog food yum yum. :smile:

hey I did read somewhere - I'll try to find it, pork is not good for kitties, makes u wonder why there's no pork flavour cat food huh?
so hoepfully thats the last of Trey's porky days :lol:

Good news on the testing.
When you have a minute, can you change your subject line to read as follows:

6/13 Trey AMPS 302. This way it makes it much easier for people to follow.
Also, you need to link the prior day's condo to the current day.

Here it is but what you would want to do for tomorrow is open todays condo, click on the address at the top of the page, it gets highlighted, then right clixk, copy, then make a new topic and right click paste in the big white box. It is very important that Trey's condo's can be followed easily.

I've been following your threads even though I haven't been posting much -- I just wanted to say I think you're doing a great job and wish you well today.
I hope it wasn't a fur shot... but if so, don't feel too bad - we've all done it!

I'm not clear on what Trey ate though - was the dog food kibble? or was it actually BBQ Pork?
I'm asking for a couple of reasons.
1.) - if was kibble, you may see elevated BG numbers for a bit longer than if it was not - which might make you think you gave a fur shot.
2.) - if it was real BBQ then the 302 might be a result of the sugar in the BBQ sauce since it would kick in rather quickly (like karo).
-- But my bigger concern over whether he (or the dog) ate BBQ sauce, is if it contained onions. (and most sauces do)
Onions are toxic to cats and dogs (especially cats)- they can develop hemolytic anemia -- So you'll want to check the ingredentients...
Don't panic or anything - it's just something you need to be aware of.
Of course if it wasn't oniony sweetened BBQ sauce then I am telling you all this for no good reason :roll:
 
6/13 Trey AMPS 283.

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=17011 Hi Trey had real pork done in water and very little bbq sauce...our girl Becky don`t eat dog food too special over 6 months since she stopped 15 year old golden lab and she gets anything she wants :lol: Sorry forgot to hook condo. Tested Trey at 12.50pm and is 283BG pretty sure he got a furshot...Hubby says I shouldn`t give any more till he is regulated so I said ok no problem .....Still feel better then when he was getting low numbers and 3 units..... Thanks he only got (2 units @ 8:30am) but most likely fur got the shot :mrgreen: Kath

It might not have been a fur shot. Did you smell Lantus, or feel wetness on his fur after the shot? Or are you just assuming it was a fur shot because the numbers aren't moving much? Because numbers don't move predictably every single cycle even if the insulin does all go in.
 
Well of course I can`t be sure but think I felt a bit of wet on fur will see tomorrow as He got his shot at 8:30 and he tested 325BG so I hope we see this go down tomorrow . Don`t like these numbers too much. He is doing good don`t like me warming his ear I think. Will do better in the AM know we will LOL Kath

At first it seems hard, and moving so slow, and some days you may think nothing is happening, but just wait and see ... it's going to happen. One day you will realize that the testing is not a problem at all, Trey is looking and acting better, his numbers are inching down to nicer levels, and everyone is more relaxed with the whole routine.

I bet if you thought back to how you felt 10days ago and how you feel today, you would see a huge difference. I bet you can already see Trey acting better too.

You guys are doing just fine Kath, just keep on as you have been.
 
Thanks for saying that and I will belive I am doing the right thing by going to 2 units and it is my fault that he is up today because he got a furshot this morning LOL Kath

Many nights I cried that I was doing everything wrong for my boy.
Well in the end I must have done something right because he is OTJ!!!!
 
Wow you had a lot of very high numbers with Max he must have been very sick.. I am so glad to hear that he is OTJ. so we are at 2 units every 12 hours and we will do this for 5 days then do a curve Who should I be talking to to advise us on his doses I really wat my boy safe and healthy. My vet will most likely be upset at me when I tell her I have a gut feeling Anyway I don`t understand this board I know you all go to the main board but couldn`t find it tonight just stuff like that. I have a house full of company and they are adults Kids go to bed sometime early but these people don`t LOL Kath Love my animals more then people or DH
