totally weird numbers now.....

OK - I switched to the Contour two days ago and have 150 strips on the way to me. I am trusting this meter, d*mn it!

Anyway, the last two days he has been way high in the morning and really low at night - upper 200s vs. 100 or less. His numbers on .5u, even on the other meter that reads lower, were not great so I increased him to .6u and now he is see-sawing. I only have 4 contour strips in the house right now, so I am not doing spot checks - or I would have to do them with the *bad* meter and try and guestimate what his BG really is.

Once I get the new strips I can do some spot checks and see a) if he is dropping much lower from the 100s and rebounding, or just what is going on and b) I can shoot .6u on the 100 or 95 and see how low he goes. For now I feel I have no choice but to back off to .5u when he is so low.

Dropping back to .5U seems like a good plan. If he levels off, then .6U was probably a hair too much.
I don't post too much about meter stuff as I've never noticed an issue - knock on wood.

Does he eat more during the night? Could that be why he's higher in the mornings?

I don't think he eats more overnight. And today he was lower in the am (155) than pm (254). He got .6u both times. I wonder about there being a different rate of absorption because sometimes he yelps and tries to bite me when I give the shot and other times he doesn't seem to notice it. But maybe that has to do with needle angle or something.
