GA Tina Marie/ Marshmallow Doll

Tina Marie (GA) and Jan

Member Since 2019
Tina's spirit flew away from her body on Dec. 3. The short of it - megacolon/ complications from CKD. She had a very kind doctor, with a beautiful bedside manner. My husband was also with us. The clinic donated money in Tina's memory, to Morris Animal Foundation. How Very touching. When I handed the doctor our daily schedule for his files a few months ago, I asked him if he thought I was crazy. He said NO, you are dedicated:)

The first couple days after, I put a brand new package of Zobaline, a new box of Adequan (only one dose used), subQ needles, into a box to send a friend. I put Tina's levothyroxine, gabapentin, a 32 or 36 oz bottle of lactulose, and more, away. The box to send is still sitting in my garage. I am stuck.
I'm glad I put Tina's Christmas stocking up early this year, so it remains above the fireplace among those of us still here. My GAs stockings are on walls around the house. I had tremendous fun creating stockings for my dear cats and dogs over the years. I made Tina's about 15 years ago. Big heart picture:kiss:

Precious squishy, the best patient (vet and home) in the whole world, my soft, soft sweet baby love. The priority of my life for the last 3 years (above people). . . just about all my own health issues went through Tina . . . first the thyroid, the diabetes (so happy to grab my own lantus and treat!!), kidneys, heart, oh that precious heart of Tina's.

We had so many (almost every) mornings on the back porch . . . yes, Tina LOVED being a porch kitty, with me practically living outdoors with her. Between 45 and 100 degrees was good. She liked the outdoor enclosure I built her, but preferred being on the outside of it. In Oct. 2019 is when I introduced Tina to the bigger yard (8 ft tall fencing). . . she seemed to come alive, and my intuition said let's do this. It never ended. She had all kids of great beds, etc. indoors, but any time I was home (most of the time), she would be outside on our bench or lying out in the beautiful sunshine or under the big red hibiscus.

My dog, Barkley was her very good friend. They groomed one another, and I have videos in my mind (a few real ones too) of all our special days of our morning routine . . . me having my office outdoors while Tina made her rounds in the yard, including loving on the dog, until she came and hopped onto the bench next to me. Earlier this summer, she snoozed through very warm days, under the giant hibiscus, where the ground was cool.

Oh my . . . after hurricane Katrina (New Orleans, etc.), I was searching online for a kitty to adopt. Tina's face came on my screen and I fell head over heals. But . . . I couldn't find her a second time - I found a funny looking kitty with real similarities to Tina. That kitty was Tina's brother Targa! I adopted them both! It was a bit too early for the Katrina kitties to be in the DFW area, but I reasoned that Tina and Targa could be overlooked with the new adoptees arriving;) Loved my improperly marked Snowshoe kitties.

Tina Marie was a fantastic huntress -- fastest paws in Texas, I would bet! No laser or lizard was safe. She used to play fetch, yes . . . those little foam balls . . . she'd return them like a dog, but ever better than most dogs I know, ha. She would place the ball right in front of me and look into my eyes!

THANK YOU FDMB. More of you are special to me than you could know. I started out as a lurker, and feel that's almost what I have become again. Tina was deeply blessed that I found you all. Thank you for being here, and KNOWING the love of a feline soul and friend. And for sharing so much knowledge, helping all of us help our beloved cats:bighug: TM was off insulin for two years;)

You can see her in the OTJ video in my signature. I literally have thousands of pictures of Tina, and get seriously lost trying to find the best. That little rat didn't like to show off her sky blue eyes!

She sure loved her dog! And her Hobbes. Brother Targa passed early, and I adopted Hobbes, who looked astonishingly like her brother. He filled his role wonderfully and cuddled with Tina all those hours when she was NOT being a porch girl.

What a sweet and wonderful tribute. Many hugs to you and your family, Jan ❤️ Fly high sweet Tina Marie :rb_icon: And, Jan, thank you for always sharing all your knowledge here over the years ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you all so so much. I will reply to all of you later today. I'd been playing a game of not doing anything to make me break down and sob. Sure, plenty of crying, but I'm trying to be my own counselor, and grieve in a "healthy way".

Yes Suzanne, this was very hard to write, but I was finally ready. Thank you. Once during the process, I thought I had lost it all, but so thankfully, I hadn't. This is a great forum for not letting us lose things easily (that we have written).

Barkley (Springer) is ready for a very long walk, and I will oblige. He will probably take me to Tina Trail and Marie Circle . . . seriously! The two streets of homes were built AFTER Tina lived here:) Oh, my excitement when I saw she had new streets named for her / grin!

Jan, you write so beautifully about your precious girl. I'm so sorry about your loss. :bighug::bighug:There are many tears on the keyboards here.

Take care of yourself now. We wrap ourselves so tightly with our sugar cats, especially those with multiple conditions to manage. It takes a toll on us too. Tina Marie is now flying free, without pain, in the biggest back yard in the sky. cat_wings>o Several of our GAs were there to greet her and show her the way.

Oh Jan! I am so heartbroken to hear this news. You have been the most steadfast cat mom, and such a rock and positive voice for so many of us here. I hope you come back to visit us in time, once your heart heals a little more from your loss. Sending so many huge hugs to you in the big state of Texas, and all of my sympathy. ❤️

I am so very sorry for your loss of precious Tina, they are never with us long enough.

Fly Free Little Girl, You were so loved!

Thank you kindly, Ruth. I know you understand how emotional this is. Your message means a lot. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

What a sweet and wonderful tribute. Many hugs to you and your family, Jan ❤️ Fly high sweet Tina Marie :rb_icon: And, Jan, thank you for always sharing all your knowledge here over the years ❤️❤️❤️

Susanne, you were so brave and bold (online at least) about the loss of your darling and entertaining boy. I hope you now have more beautiful memories of Jax, than sorrow. I will take those hugs AND those perfect hearts!! Both coming right back at you:bighug::bighug::bighug:

You already know my very sad feelings about your loss of Tina. I know it wasn’t easy for you to write this, but it is a beautiful tribute to your remarkable girl. What a great cat mom you are. You and Tina were very blessed to have found each other.

Oh there I go again, erasing what I wrote, grrrrr. Suzanne, I know you have also experienced a huge loss and hope with all my heart, you will experience more healing during this holiday season. Very hard to write, but I felt better for doing so. Brought some happy memories;) Writing can sometimes be therapeutic and it was a nice step forward. Thank you so much. More hugs :bighug::bighug::bighug:

My condolences, Jan:bighug::bighug::bighug:. Losing our precious fur kids is so painful.
Such a touching tribute to your girl on a life well lived. Remember to take care of yourself now.

Thank you, Lyla :bighug::bighug::bighug: I also look forward to hearing more from you about Butters (always love love her name). I perused her SS and see how much loving attention she gets. Such a devoted mom you are.

A beautiful tribute for a beautiful kitty that was so well loved by the best fur parent ever. Sending love your way.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you so much Elise. I'm holding on to that love and at the same time, sending a bunch back to you.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you so much Wendy. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Once in a while, usually in the mornings, my thoughts flow freely. Sweet Tina was in my heart and moving me. Your words are so true about the tight bond we form with these intelligent and independent beauties - even more so when their health causes them to not be so independent. Now, I need to make my own health a higher priority again. Tina would want that for me I'm sure.
The biggest back yard in the sky, yes! Makes me smile:)

Ah Katherine, thank you. Rubes is always in my heart (go get 'em Ruby!). Your words are so kind and appreciated . . . I have been going through art lessons, with my mom's husband being my teacher. He is almost 90, and wants to help me paint Tina. I was not ready last week, but I've been painting and learning on my own. Funny how all that makes me think of you!:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh Jan I am so sorry for your loss. Tina was such a beautiful kitty. Such a beautiful tribute . Tina couldn't have gotten the best mama bean ever.
I remember you telling me once when I posted and was upset about Tyler's numbers going up. You calmed me down. I'm sorry your other furkids are also missing Tina.
Please take care of yourself. ♥:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
Fly high sweet Tina you will be missed cat_wings>o

I am so sorry for your loss Jan. What a nice tribute to Tina Marie, she was such a beautiful kitty and was lucky enough to get love from all sides: her mama bean, her best friend Barkley & her brother Hobbes. She had a special life.

Fly free sweet Tina Marie, you will be missed but never forgotten :rb_icon:cat_wings>o:rb_icon:

Jan, I am stunned to just read this. It has been hard for me coming back to this site too. You were so supportive of me when I had my Susie. I love your sweet testimonial to Tina Marie. I will be praying for you and you WILL see your Tina Marie again someday - God willing. Tough year with a lot of tough losses for many of us.

Thank you Hilary - you know I've been admiring George for some while . . . so darling. :bighug:

A beautiful tribute to a beautiful girl. I am so sorry she has gone ahead. :rb_icon:cat_wings>o

Thank you Bron; we are blessed to have all your support here. I hope you feel more blessed than stressed, with the help you give:smuggrin: Rereading what I wrote helps a lot during the times when my mind goes in the lost/wrong direction. And I can add a lot more, haha . . . the hollering (singing) she would do at her catnip:D

I am so very sorry for the loss of your blue-eyed girl. Clearly, she was dearly loved. Godspeed Tina.

Jodey, Your words warm my heart and make me smile:rb_icon:
My blue-eyed girl is all around in my mind:bighug:

So sorry. Be free little one.

Always lovin' that little one Paula . . . thanks again for the tip on Wedgewood Pharmacy and the gabapentin without added sugar;) Always remembering precious Olive, Ollie making pickles:D:rb_icon:

This is a beautiful tribute. What a lovely, lovable girl she was. You are always so kind and helpful to everyone, and Tina was blessed to be in your care. :bighug:

We always adored you and Felix and really love the full moon parties Susan. I'm trying to not cry, but that's just a silly request of myself, right? I noticed you just had your own young civvie loss, when I was about to share in the full moon thread. Oh kind one -- lots of mutual hugs AND let's also honor our dear GAs this Christmas. If possible, yes?! Instead of thinking Christmas is lost.:bighug:

What a beautiful story... thank you for sharing. Your girl sounds amazing. I am so sorry for your loss. :bighug:

She was and IS . . . just not around where I get to see and feel her. Thank you, dear Tammy:bighug:

Beautiful Tribute for a very beautiful little Angel.Tina Marie was very blessed to have you as her Mama Bean:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: Fly Free Pretty Little Girl:rb_icon:cat_wings>o:rb_icon::rb_icon::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Diane, ok make these tears stop! Sending all the love and blessings I can to you and Ashley and Dad. :bighug::bighug::bighug:Life is rough, but you are tougher, right. Eek, just trying to be optimistic! Thank you again for remembering Tina Marie:bighug:

Paul - you are such a blessing - I hope you know that:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
In the past, I have "run" or play a denial game, instead of posting, when someone has a loss. You step up, and share the love with all of us. Thank you -- Tina was an awesome girl . . . the angel of the whole house (and yard too, in the last years)!

You are right Summer - I don't think either of us were prepared for our girls to leave us when they did. But, just as you say, God Willing, we will see all our GAs again . . . Tina is deep in my heart, and i have only just begun grieving to be honest. I was stunned at the feelings I just had out walking the back yard (where are you Tina; this isn't right!!)
Life and love must go on . . . :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Jan, what a beautiful tribute to your Tina and to all of your GAs. Tina was so lucky to have lived with you and to have been loved by you. I know that she is sending you many messages of love and gratitude.

Fly free, sweet girl. You are much loved. :rb_icon:cat_wings>o

Ella, an internet rock (did you know that?):bighug::bighug::bighug: Tina WAS at the Cold Moon Party . . . a different view for her, but she knew many of the loved and cherished beyond the veil -- it may have been her best celebration ever. Tears and Love:kiss:

By the way, I love the irony of the street names "Tina and Marie". What are the chances of that? They will always be another sweet reminder of your beauty and best bud.

And I just LOVE it!! I was so happy to see those new street signs a few years ago, but knew that one day the meaning would evolve. (God bless you)

It is both hard and wonderful to be here -- thank you ALL FDMB family.
I have gotten busy pet sitting . . . so now I have four CAT houses to take care of until the holidays are over.

Look for beauty and let others love you too.
Love, me

Oh Jan, I am so very very sorry for your loss and so thankful you and your hubby were with Tina Marie in those last moments on this earth. I know she was a VERY much loved cat - and that she knew it. What a wonderful testimony of her life and love with you. I am sure she is having lots of fun over the rainbow bridge, and she is waiting now on Heaven's porch for her beloved people to join her some day. May her memories bring you so much comfort. Love from Margaret and Pearl.

Oh I'm so very sorry to hear of the passing of your girl...I know it's heartbreaking and your loving tribute to her and her pals brought tears to my eyes.

Please know that I'm sending heartfelt prayers and care to you and your family. I know this must have been a stressful month for you...just take it one day at a time...and time will help heal the hurt, but never remove the fond memories of your days with Tina.:bighug:

Fly free sweet one...chase those butterflies in the meadow...cat_wings>o
