Mugsy has improved enough that tomorrow I am switching him to the Lantus, finally. He is almost not sore at all (except for his head, of course) and the drainage was less today. He will still be on Biomox for another week and hopefully the infection will be gone by then.Initially, I will only test twice a day - the poor cat will be getting tested, shot, and squirted twice a day plus his head will still need draining. ASAP I will do a curve. He must think he's being tortured for fighting. I don't know about Mugsy but, the two of us are ready to begin the regimen. I just hope my testing technique improves quickly! I, also, hope the Lantus will put weight back on him - he's such a bone rack - maybe, eventually, he can even get off it. :roll:
It's a good thing he hasn't looked in a mirror lately - the vet shaved the head area and his one leg was already shaved for the BG testing plus the wounds, partly closed eye, and missing whiskers - he looks like he was caught in a fan (or something). Ah, vanity!
