Right now I give insulin at 8:30 am and pm but if I want to change times like possibly 6:30/6:30 or 9:30/ 9:30. How do you transition? I want to put more thought into it but 8:30 is proving a bit challenging with work. I've only slipped twice in two months but last night was one of those slips and Gadgets numbers were too high today :(( I missed 8:30pm and shot at 10:30pm and then this morning shot at 9:30am so there was an 11 hour diff. And will do 8:30 tonight so another 11 hour diff and back to 12 hours tomorrow. Is that the way to get back on track? I've also had a couple of fur shots and recently it went in one side and out the other. It always causes his numbers to spike when anything varies. There is a big learning curve even if you read everything until it happens to you it doesn't make sense. And then I feel so bad because he has to live with the mistake 12 hours!

Ah, no, it means Guardian Angel or Gone Ahead ... as in deceased.

With Lantus, we suggest folks change times either 15 minutes per shot, or a total of 30 minutes per day.

Ok so I made my mistakes and gave his shot at 10:30pm/9:30am so it would be best to do 9:30 pm since he had too much of a change last night and then maybe tomorrow keep it at 9:30/9:30 so he can stabilize? And then start with 15 min changes to get back to 8:30/8:30?

I wasn't clear.
You have 2 options
1) change 15 min per shot
OR
2) change 30 minutes total, on 1 shot each day

Ok I do get it! Thank you! Really my question was two time related questions. How to switch times which you answered.
And if I miss a shot in the future is there a window of time generally that it is ok to give the shot late? Since I was 2 hours late should I have skipped the shot?

Lantus works best when shot on a 12 hour schedule, so if you are so late you can't make up the time easily, it is better to skip.
