somebody pleas help

I'm sorry, I for one can't take Tiggy. With my three kitties, drooler, full and part time jobes (and full time can sometimes end up to be 12-14-sometimes `6 hr. days) AND mom, just can't do. I hope you find someone.

I remember reading your post on Health awhile back.....did you ever bring him to the vet to see if there was a physical reason for the inappropriate urination? From what you said it could be behavioral, but one should check it out through your vet. This is certainly heartbreaking after being together for 10 years. I do hope you will find a solution...either by keeping him somehow or finding a kind person who has room for one more kitty. I am afraid I cannot myself....having 2 diabetic cats....I feel so bad for Tiggy. So many changes in your home with the new baby and all....I wish there was something I could suggest to you, but I cannot think of anything at the moment.
Do you live in Washington State? Maybe you can say exactly where you are....

ETA: I see that you are in Seattle ...

Where are you????????????? There are a lot of no-kill and rescue shelters if we know where you are.

i think they're in seattle...

sorry, we are overbooked here too...wish we could help, hope tiggy can find a new home.

i've sent a PM to venita and asked her to please stop by here. she runs Diabetic Cats in Need. she *may* be able to assist in some way... i really don't know for sure. have you had a chance to try any of the suggestions made in this thread: http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=25403&p=255269#p255269? i know how much you love tiggy. just the thought of re-homing him has to be tearing you apart.

i'm sorry. i wish i could help you out... even if it were to just foster him for awhile, but the inn is full.

ps - i'm going to remove the 911 icon from your original post since this is not a medical emergency.
i'll replace it with the heart icon... a symbol of your love for your little guy.

i had quite frankly lost my mind my week has been hard and i was extremely frustrated... to be frank tiggy isnt controlled. me and my husband have made a commitment and are gonna give it another go. HE is ours and we need to give him the best we can. Starting i need to get his numbers down. He is around 200 on this last testing stream. We did a mini set of 5 tests( how horrible is it i forgot what this is called, yeah need to get my self straight) I need to get his chart set back up and we need to buy new insulin which my sister is gonna give me til i can start PZI which i had talked to lori and tom about getting. First though besides this we gotta get him to the vet to make sure he doesnt have an underlying medical problem (uti, infection) this will be happening this weekend..... So a question can anyone set me up with the template for a chart its been so long i lost tiggys and it needs to start over.....
Thank you for your help this is the close to this thread and you will be seeing me more....

I also never got the hang of setting up images for tiggy on this new board any help.....
Thank you again
I realize now that rehoming him is just my easy way out i need to deal with this and the thought of getting rid of him just breaks my heart....

The situation sounds heartbreaking and I'm glad you're going to give this a try. The word you were searching for is a curve.

Here's the link for setting up your spreadsheetand linking it to your signature.

You may also want to see if you can track down this book by Pam Johnson-Bennett. She's a feline behavior specialist and the book has a chapter devoted to inappropriate elimination in an adult cat. If the problem isn't medical, the book may be helpful with respect to strategies to get Tibby back to the box.

((Tiffany)) Here is the link for the spreadsheet: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=18207
It is found in the Tech Forum...and here is the one for the picture/avatar: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=486
Oh and here is one for setting up the profile: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17766

IMHO the SS is the most important to do right away. Have you given any thought to trying lantus? There are many here who have used PZI too so they might be a good source of information for you.
Again my opinion....the vet visit is very important to rule out any physical problems that he might be having. If Tiggy's results are all within the normal range, then you will focus on the behavioral issues that might be behind the inappropriate urination...
Maybe there are physical issue underlying this whole thing...maybe a dental might be needed too.

You are starting out with the right list in hand...things to do first and you will have lots of help whenever you ask for it, okay? We are all here to help you in any way we can. I am happy to hear that you have reconsidered.... I know you have your hands full there, but maybe this renewed commitment will be the bets for all of you. I am wishing you all the very best... :YMHUG:
Please keep us posted on how things are going. If you decide to use Lantus, we will be looking for your daily condos, okay? If you feel that PZI is what you decide is best, then that is fine...just let us know how you and Tiggy are, okay?

good morning tiff! so happy to hear you'll be taking tiggy into the vet for a checkup. it'll be good to know if the IE is due to something physical or it's a behavioral issue. glad you're getting some new lantus, too. i'm not sure on what basis lori is making a recommendation to switch insulins since tiggy was responding very, very well to lantus. i think you'll have him back to those same beautiful numbers he was getting with a little focus. we can help you with that, but you already know we're here for support, right? :-D

here's the link to tiggy's "old" google spreadsheet: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p53yxfYxar6HxBhyfHupCZg.

I am glad your taking Tiggy to see the vet and calming down. I know it's hard when life demands sooo much of you. Here is a link that might help you: http://www.petplace.com/search.aspx?c=0&q=incontinence. It is to Petplace.com which helps pet owners with medical problems and this page is for incontinence. There are many causes and they explain them and what to do. It might help you cope and when talking to your vet. Second, if you really can't cope and feel you must give up Tiggy - call the wonderful people at PAWS. They have a website at http://www.paws.org and run a cat city in your city. They have found appropriate homes for over 10,000 cats and run a fine center where Tiggy can live and be cared for until his new home is found. I hope you can work out your problems and keep Tiggy. I know you would both be happier.

Tiffany...we are relatively new here but we are so happy that you are giving Tiggy another chance. I can tell you love him so much!! I am happy you are getting him
to a vet..please keep us posted.
