I put this info in your other condo.
The situation sounds heartbreaking and I'm glad you're going to give this a try. The word you were searching for is a curve.

Here's the link for setting up your spreadsheet and linking it to your signature.

You may also want to see if you can track down this book by Pam Johnson-Bennett. She's a feline behavior specialist and the book has a chapter devoted to inappropriate elimination in an adult cat. If the problem isn't medical, the book may be helpful with respect to strategies to get Tibby back to the box.Pam Johnson-Bennett. Hi again! I had written i your previous post this morning...so happy to see you!
Here is the link to the previous thread: http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopi ... =9&t=26726

maybe other previous PZI users will be able to share their thoughts on why they switched to Lantus.
Have you made an appointment with the vet yet?
ETA: you are already on Lantus? Why not stick with that and stay here with us....that is an awesome AMPS today...I am curious as to why you would ever want to switch from a good thing....

I'm just wondering if you are using insulin yet? Is it Lantus?

We used ProZinc before switching to Lantus. We had good results with it, but Tinkles was battling a chronic URI and the big swings with the PZ made it very hard to make headway with the infection. We switched to Lantus after 3 months to try to get flatter curves, and it has worked very well most of the time and the URI is finally gone...but the biggest benefit we have seen is one I didn't expect AT ALL....TInkles is like a different cat! He is learning how to play, we adopted him from a shelter 4 years ago and we had seen him attempt to play maybe 3 times in those 4 years. Now, he plays EVERY DAY, even when his BG is high. It's absolutely amazing to watch him come out of his shell...he is just learning how to play at 13 years old! He feels SO much better with Lantus.

I still think ProZinc is an excellent insulin, and if you can't do the 12/12 schedule PZI is the best option...but if you can do the schedule, I would recommend Lantus over a PZI. It pains me to say that, because I really was happy with ProZinc, but I am happier with Lantus. A cat is more than his numbers.

There are ways to make it at least as inexpensive to use Lantus as using PZI, if not LESS expensive. There is a ton of help and support here, as you know.

Maybe this will be easier -- here's the link to Tiggy's old SS. You can just start a new tab with your current data.

Just out of curiosity, it looks like Tiggy was doing well on Lantus. Why would you want to switch to PZI?
