? Tiger upcoming teeth cleaning

How should I approach Tiger’s insulin and curve with a teeth cleaning coming up on Thursday 3/6. I do his curves on Thursdays and we’re still looking for his optimal dosage with SLGS. Currently at 4.5 units of Lantau. I’m also wondering how much teeth discomfort can affect blood sugar? He’s got stinky breath and drooling on and off.

Need if a dental is a common cause for cars coming out of remission. It could be why you are having problems getting to a breakthrough dose. It’s good he’s getting a dental. You might see dramatic improvement but no guarantees. :bighug:

I sure do hope so! Should I be keeping an eye out for anything that might help identify if we went past his breakthrough dose? He would just go low correct?

We had Tigers teeth done in July. He did need several extractions too. His dosage dropped almost by half however we still can’t nail down that magic number. He went from as high as 2.75 to now hovering around 1.5 units. Good luck!

Yes. He might earn lots of reductions but not all see that happen. Max didn’t .

I'd do your curve on Wednesday so you have the newest data pre-dental to compare with post-dental. It's also important to remember that even after the cleaning, it may take awhile to see any improvement in his numbers. Depending on how intensive the dental is, he may have some pain and inflammation that has to settle down first.

Be sure to grab a few jars of "meat only" baby food. Both Gerber and Beech Nut make baby food that only contains meat, water and maybe a little tapioca starch (Gerber). The first few meals his mouth might be sore so you want something easy for him to eat.
