A month of so ago I was on here asking about what to do for constipation...now I'm back for the opposite problem!

Based on advice given here, I was giving Morris Miralax up until last Friday because his stools were very dry and sometimes he couldn't go. After a week or so on the Miralax, he was back to normal so I discontinued. Now today he had puddingpoo which was extremely smelly. Could this be from the Miralax still? The only other thing new is that I have added FF beef feast (not with gravy) to his rotation of food because he really likes the beef, and that is what he was eating today but wouldn't touch it tonight. I read that beef is one of the more common food allergies aside from grains but he has eaten it in the past with no ill effects. What can I give him for the loose stools?? Is Fortiflora for that and if so, can I buy it locally? Don't want to wait for an online order to arrive...Petsmart, Petco and the usual pet stores are local to me.
 
Maybe the addition of the new flavor upset his little tummy. Having already been on the miralax, the new floavor could have made his stool a little more soft than usual. How long has he had the loose stool? I am sure others will come along and let you know where you can get the fortiflora. I got mine from my vet when I needed it for my little baby.
 
I've seen FortiFlora at Petco but I'd call there first. There are a couple of stores near me and not every store stocks it. You can also use another probiotic -- ReNew Ultimate Flora. I found it at Whole Foods in the refrigerated supplement section. (You use about 1/3 of a capsule in food.)
 
It's unlikely it's still the Miralax this many days later.

I'd suspect something else.

You can get fortiflora at your vet locally or maybe at banfield's (petsmart vet) I believe. :)

Keep an eye on it, you're gonna want to make sure it goes away immediately as he could get dehydrated quickly

Only one poop so far but he hasn't gone yet this a.m.

You're right...now that you mention it, I saw it there last time I went.

But the vet is even closer...about a block away...will have to call and see if they carry it.

He is also not eating very well so there may be something cooking inside...if he is still not eating right tonight, I will be taking him to the vet so may hold off on adding Fortiflora to the mix. But thanks everyone for the info on Flortiflora.
 
If he still has loose stool his next few movements, I'd take a stool sample into your vet. A year or so ago Bandit started having mysterious runny poo, and I tried what I thought was everything to get him solid and nothing worked. Finally after about 5 days I brought a stool sample into the vet, and it turned out he had hookworms! Imagine my surprise, since he's an indoor cat!

Parasites can be tracked in on shoes, and are more common with indoor kitties than you would think, especially if other outdoor animals live near your property.

Besides the beef being an allergen, I think that paticular flavor of FF has fish in it too. If there is fish in it, that could also be causing the liquipoo.
Just from my experience, Jolly would always get softer stools after eating the fish flavors so I stopped feeding them to her. I would stop giving the new flavor and see if poop returns to normal just to make sure there is nothing else going on. A cat with diarrhea can dehydrate very fast and might need a visit to the vet if poop doesn't return to normal.
 
Best prices for FortiFlora are found on ebay. Around here (NW FL), only vets carry it.

We use Culterelle (1/2 capsule 2x day). You can get it at Walmart, Target, CVS, etc... Fiona hates FortiFlora, but Zoe loved it. Fiona and the other kitties don't even notice the Culturelle in their food.
