Shasta’s dad

First let me say we’ve seen some good changes in Shasta since we started 7 weeks ago, but we’re no closer to getting him dialed in or under control than we were when we started. I know it takes patience but the stress is starting to take it’s toll on the household. One of us travels and the other is a month into a new job. So, I’m looking for input PLEASE. We’ve been trying to use the Libre device so the vet can monitor and track but we’ve not heard from them in a couple weeks. We’re also on our 5th one trying to get a curve. He is much livelier than he was just a few weeks ago. With that came an increase in his appetite. He is 15+ lbs. 3 weeks ago we struggled to get him to eat 2.5 oz of food twice a day. Today we feed him 3 oz twice a day and break it up into two meals at AMPS and PMPS and +2. He’d eat more if we’d let him. We reduced insulin .25 a few days ago (SLGS) when he dropped down to the 70’s. It says to wait 14 cycles before changing but he is 500+ with the Libre, over 460 with the Alpha and 317 with the Relion. I understand that we need to settle on a meter, which would be the Libre, but when it is over 500 we try to find out where he is really at. The last day he has been 500+ for over 4 hours. My thought on the meters is if I’m sticking him I might as well use the sample for both meters. He skyrockets mid day when he should be seeing his nadir. Since he is so high do I still need to wait the 6 more cycles to go back to 1.25? I’m off the road for the next week and we’re having “that talk” tonight about how long we “try this”. THANKS!!
