solostar pen - too expensive

Has anyone found a pharmacy that will let you break up a pack of solostar pens? I can't front $200 at one time - $53 would be much easier! Has anyone had any success with the rx drug card? How much of a discount did you get?
 
I saw someone post on here that either at sams club or cotsco (not sure if you have either) you can buy one pen at a time, and its around 38.00. Hope that helps!
 
Very satisfied, the pharmacist is knowledgeable and orders come fairly quickly packed in ice packs. I order other expensive meds ($400. or more for lupron depot) for my ferrets there as well with no problems. I have been using them for over a year.

That was me. And yes, I called around and the Sam's near me would sell a single pen. They also price match. At the time Costco had the best price I found but couldn't break a box (thought perhaps the next month he might as other clients needed singles) Sam's called to verify the box price there, then divided by 5 for the single. You do not have to be a member to use the pharmacy there, just need an RX. i got my syringes w/ 1/2 unit markings there also.
I would say to call around first to check as each may have their own policy. I was not under the impression this was any sort of special courtesy, just their normal protocol.

Also call around to university medical center pharmacies. They will often sell a single pen since they break the boxes apart for in-hospital use. Also, check prices at Rite Aid if they are in your area. Someone here posted recently that with their discount club, they got a box for around $50.
 
Thanks everyone. We have decided to go for it and order it online. After calling several pharmacies (ironically each one quoted me the per pen price before saying uhh hold on let me check..no it's $239/box, can't sell individually) no one would sell just one pen. I called Sam's club as well and they said no - so maybe you are getting special treatment :)
 
Are you going to order from the Canada drugs online mentioned earlier? I'm curious, because I'm in a similar situation. I just got a script for the cartridges and the cheapest price I've found is Costco for about $185 for the box...
