good morning everyone - Cleo is 12 yrs old and is diabetic as well as asthmatic. She is on Lantus 2 x's a day - 1.5 units - last night I could tell she was not feeling well - only symptom is being lethargic and hiding a bit. I kept an eye on her all night (of course it's the weekend and her vet is closed) - and this morning she is the same - drank a little water but no food, I did get a reading of 215, but did not give her Lantus because she won't eat. I honestly want to wait until tomorrow morning to take her to her regular vet because her last trip to the emergency vet was horrible - she almost died (just a few months ago). She stresses so horribly and her regular vet knows how to handle her and knows her situation (we talk once a week). She also had 2 asthma attacks yesterday and I had to use her albuterol both times. I wanted to know do I definitely not give her any insulin today (unless she feels better or eats)? Am i taking too much of a risk waiting until tomorrow morning? I'm sick to my stomach with worry, she is my baby and I love her dearly :(. Thank you everyone.

Good evening - I wanted to let everyone know that Cleo is much better. After a visit to the vet on Monday she had another UTI :(. She received fluids and an antibiotic and is so much better, back to her crazy self. They also gave me something today to help balance the PH in her urine, evidentially this is common with diabetics, so hopefully this supplement will help to keep them at bay. Thank you everyone for your support. I hope I can return the support. If you know of other ways to perhaps prevent UTI's in diabetics, please let me know. Have a great weekend!!

just tested at amps 245 and she at a little Friskies (favourite!).
Giving her 15 mins to see if she keeps it down before shot.

So happy to hear Cleo is much better!

Just some general advice for everyone: If you post a 911 message and don't get a quick response, please crosspost on Feline Health, too. It's a big board, we all can't be everywhere at once.

Scritches to Cleo.

_Rebecca
