Should Joe's dose be raised

I'll think of who to tag to look at Joe's numbers for when you get his +3, so you can have many eyes on him tonight.
I'm fairly new at this so let's see who is more experienced to help!

Same same. For me, staying up is better than waking up and being groggy.
 
Now to decide if I need to make him wait for a meal and do a +4 OR feed him and set an alarm for a couple of hours later

That is a big drop from PMPS to +2. Did you feed him then? Looks like an active cycle. You may need to be monitoring him for a few hours. The data will tell us how long.

He is still dropping. I would give him some higher carb food to slow that drop (around 15 % carbs) and test again in 30 mins

Now, let's address this two hour business. If it were say right after his preshot reading and he were in higher numbers, yes, you can wait two hours to test.
But since he's dropping in numbers fast (and you want to sleep at some point tonight!) we test more frequently, to get ahead of his drop and control it with food.
Does that make sense?
 
So the 141 after HC is interesting, you'd think it would have bumped him up more. That could mean that he would otherwise be quite lower now. Let's see what Bron says now that HC has entered the chat.

Have you seen the amount of HC they say to give, like 1 tsp! It shocked me at first. Powerful stuff.

And, the worst thing ever would be for him to get too full and you can't get him to eat. Hard to imagine, I know.
But two nights ago, Templeton got too full, and he refused to eat when I needed to get him up from 45!
 
Looks like the HC stopped the drop for now. Did you give some ordinary low carb after the 141?
If so, that’s fine….but don’t feed any more now but test again in 1 hour.
 
I’d say if Bron doesn’t chime in soon, it wouldn’t be the end of the world to give him medium carb and test again in 30-45 minutes. Might be too many carbs but you do want to sleep at some point. I’m not sure when his nadir is, it could be a while away.

Until you can be sure he will be at least above 50 at his nadir. And that high carb didn’t seem to bump him up too high.
I’m not experienced enough to tell when his nadir is. I think I remember it’s later on ProZinc than Lantus, maybe +8 or +9?

Say if I did one more 30 minute and he is alright and if I were to catch a snooze in the recliner and set the alarm, what would be a good time to check again.

Rats. Well you can still see what he is, just that we can’t feed him to feed the curve upward/more level.
I gotta go give Temp his +2 and I’ll take another look at your SS, see if I can figure out when Joe nadirs. Hang tight and relax.
